From a historical perspective, I still think the organization would have been wise to make Denny the GM and promote Tony to the HC.

I always thougth Denny in the FO as GM finding the talent and Tony on the field coaching that talent would have been a great combo.
To bad the timing didn't work out.

Can't agree with you more.
Denny would have been much better served in the FO.
His coaching to me was questionable.
I know they made the playoffs while he was coach but let's face it.
That was a pretty talented team that were underacheivers.

Good article, i've always had a weak for ex-coaches or ex-players. especially for coaches who made it to HC somewhere else.
