    Draft a kicker next year

    Do you think we should?

If so who is your leading candidate?

I say Mike Nugent from OSU, watched a couple of OSU games this year, he is a solid fg/pat kicker and he can kick off too

    now we need a punter...

    Draft a kicker next year

    Late rounds only.

Not worth a pick really. There are others out there.

You can't trust Kickers????? You don't know where to look for them.

Billy Cundiff from Drake in DM IA.

In college, he kicked the longest FG in NCAA history. I think it was 63 yds.

He is 9-11 this year and his long is 47yds.

Coming out of College, he seemed like an awesome find. He rarely gets to kick long FGs

Adam Vinatieri, came from a small school, SDSU in Brookings SD.

Tines - Troy State - Scotland
    Akers - Louisville
    J.Brown - Nebraska
    Kasey - Georgia
    Carney - NotreDame
Christie - William and Mary - Canada
Janikoski - Florida St - Poland
Gramatica - Kansas St - Argentina
    Wilkins - Youngstown St
    Kaeding - Iowa

    Small schools and Big school?????

Where do you look? 255 kickers every year in the NCAA division 1 alone????? I can't believe you have to draft a position like that they should be lining up at the door to try out.

I disagree. If we had a weapon like the Buckeyes kicker Nugent, it would make our special team better immediately. He kicks most balls out of the endzone on kickoffs, (Yes, I know college kicks from the 35 instead of the 30, so it would still be 5 yards deep in the endzone) and would give opposing teams the start at the 20 instead the 40. Add the bonus that he is an accurate FG kicker even with long kicks, (8-9) 50 yards plus and he would be worthy of a high draft pick. That type of kicker could win several games for us a season.

I bet Nugent goes high in the draft come April.

If he is a great kicker, it might be worth it. I would definitely take a defensive impact player for our first 2 picks. If we could sign a free agent DT, that would be great then you could spend a 2nd round pick on a position other than impact player.

If Nuge is an impact player amybe he is worth it, who knows.

Red doesn't want to pay high dollars for kicker or punters, we found that out with Berger.

We have to get Mike Nugent last year. That guy's done a hell of a job at OSU (been watching him play since he was a freshman), and this is a guy we can't pass up.

He will immediatly change our special teams for the better.

I don't care how good he is, don't draft him until the 6th or 7th round if even at all!

    newwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwgggggg!!!!
mike nugent is the best kicker in the country!!!! he is worth a first round pick for sure. he broke most of the kicking records at ohio state. he holds 18 records. he was 8of9 past 50 this year.kicks out of the end zone. he would have to be worth the risk considering what the vikes have been through since berger left. and he is dual duty and clutch.
GO BUCKEYES!!!!! they took it to mich today! awesome!!!!

I don't care if he is the best kicker in the damn world!! All he does is kick. The first round is for playmakers not kickers!! Our drafts have been screwed up enough as it is recently, drafting a kicker in the first round would really make us the laughing stock of the NFL draft!!
