Re: Don't get carried away with Peterson hype

I said he sounds like Mercury Morris.
He can't just say AP is a great back, he has to use an analogy about books and writing and how long they are to try to discredit AP.
I don't get why people feel they need to get on their high horse to try to put someone down when they can just simply say, yeah he's good.

Re: Don't get carried away with Peterson hype

Look, people got carried away with the Reggie Bush hype. How many lame a** commercials are out there showcasing Bush? I remember everyone (scouts, analysts, talking heads) basically crowning Bush as the best running back ever to play the game, EVER! Nevermind that he had never taken a snap in the NFL. The Texans don't look so stupid now do they? And I look foreward to watching the 'Vikes playing teams that passed on AD. It's great. Hey Al Davis, how did the guy that broke your bank do last year? Oh, never mind, he held out and rode the bench. If you look in the dictionary under Dumba**, Jamarcus Russel's picture will be next to Al Davis's. The guy has the IQ of a tater-tot (Russel) And no, I don't wish he was a Viking. Russel was hyped. Brady Quinn got hype. Matt leinert got hype. I am suprised at how many GM's
and coaches get suckered in by garbage. As far as I am concerned, AD did not get "hyped." All those other guys did not play a snap and they were supposed to be the best ever to play the game right from their rookie year. AD drops because he is supposedly "fragile" and he actually PLAYS and performs and blows everyone away and now he's getting respect. He can be the best ever. He has proven he can play. None of those other "hyped" guys can say that. I for one believe that AD will contribute significantl;y to a not so far away title.

in the HS footage he looks like he is an adult playing with children.
He's obviously bigger and stronger than anyone out there, and that even transfered into college a little bit.
He will be a beast for years to come

It's funny you put it that way, I was watching the Chicago game earlier this season with my friened (a Bills fan) who described him that way too... only at the pro level.

I can't wait till next season...

Lorenzo is just embarassed because AD shamed his fellow teammate Tomlinson in their meeting at the metrodome this year.
that or his half- baked blocking did nothing for Tomlinson, whereas AD walked all over his Chargers. He should learn to keep his yap shut after a game like that.

    I'm pre-ordering Madden 09 as soon as it's available.
I bet they boost his numbers up in it big time.

Surely he'll be on the cover, especially with Brady fizzling out at the Superbowl.
I don't know who else they would even think about putting on there!

    Blaspheme!
I think the Vikes should amend his contract to match whatever EA Sports offers just to keep him off the cover.
No reason to test the jinx.

Re: Don't get carried away with Peterson hype

I think Lorenzo Neal holds some credibility. Pretty naive to hate on him if you ask me. He spoke his mind, and he`s right. AP is a very very good player. But you can`t compare him to the likes of LT, Gale Sayers, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Eric Dickerson, yadda yadda yadda. It`s not fair to either side. AP hasn`t been in the league long enough to be mentioned with those great rb`s yet. Does he have the potential to be as great or better? Obviously the answer is yes. But not yet.

To make this out to be an AFC/NFC thing is ridiculous. Take off the purple glasses and look at reality.
