Dome difficulty heads toward a historic low

Dome difficulty heads toward a historic low

Sunday's loss puts Brad Childress in position to become the Vikings' biggest at-home coaching failure since Les Steckel went 2-6 in 1984.

Anything you have in common with Les Steckel is a bad thing.

Childress is already 1 home win better and 3 victories overall than Steckel.

I can't believe we have to hear the two names mentioned in the same sentance.

I agre. Comparing the two is rather asinine IMHO.
Even if Childress loses the final two games, he will still have a better record than LS ever did.
In fact, he will have the same record Tice did his first season.
Personally, I expect us to finish 8-8, which is actually not too shabby considering the amount of change the Vikings had this year.

I think these two fit perfectly in the same sentence. Both will be the laughing stalks of the vikes in years to come.

I dont think any viking coach had more to work with then Childress, or more freedom. The team hasnt responded to him at all, and his offesne, the verion of the WCO, flat out sucks. Hes about as much of a QB guru as I am.

I respectfully disagree.
Tice inherited the most powerful offense in the NFL and manager a losing overall record and a 1-1 in the playoffs.
Childress entered this season with a brand new Offensive Line, nobody at WR thanks to a drinking problem, and a QB that was past his prime.

I think the only place you can criticize Childress right now is the lack of a search for a viable #2 QB in the offseason, and then not switching to TJ a little sooner.
And even those criticisms are based in hindsight.

I agree.

And at the same time I am starting to worry a bit.

Tice may have inherited Moss and Pep. but so many here think those 2 sucked anyways (Im not one of them), but Childress could but whoever he wanted. Want a good Oline, heres a shitlod of cash for Hutch. Hicks is good? Here ya go pay him. Mckinney is da man? Sign him. Extend those contracts with huge money so they got nothing to play for. Wanna call t\your own plays? SURE. Anything else? Yeah bring over those ex eagles, they will light up the place.
