So the vikings could go to LA? That would be crazy I live in California. Does that mean the people in minnesota root for another team or the same team?
I would become a Browns or Bills fan.

If they do move to LA...Yikes....will they retain the Viking mascot?????

As a foreign Vikes fan (UK), I wouldn't support the team if it moved to L.A. I like you Minnesota folks and would wait until another franchise appeared in MN to support.

Re: The Dome

Indoor stadium is for the fans and the stadium owners.
Nice and comfortable and a alternate revenue stream.

As for the Viking team, outdoors would be a competitive advantage.
Stats show warm weather/dome teams lose more in the cold.

As for ticket sales, teams that win will fill the seats regardless of indoors or outdoors.
During most of the 90's Vikes sold out every game, because they were always making the playoffs.
In the last 6 years it's been tough to sell tickets for a poor to mediocre team.

As for moving to LA.
If it's a choice between a much cheaper outdoor stadium and keeping the Vikes.... or no staduim because of the cost and losing the Vikes.
The choice is clear.
From what I've read in the past Wilf wants a outdoor stadium.

I personally don't care if it's indoors or outdoors as long as the Vikes get a stadium and stay in MN.

I'd still be a fan of them. It's Minnesota's fault if they don't get it and it's not like they waited til the last minute to bring it up.

I honestly think that if any public funds are used to construct the stadium, then it needs to be retractable roof at a minimum.
IF a retractable roof is too expensive, then we need to put a fixed roof on.

In order for a new stadium to be able to recoup public dollars, it needs to have a roof.

I also think that outdoor football in Minnesota in December and January is miserable.
Back when we were fielding perennial super bowl teams at the Old Met, we still couldn't sell out the 48,000 seat stadium in the winter months.
Anybody who thinks that we could sell out a much larger stadium now is ignoring the facts.

Anyone in Minnesota who likes to watch the games on TV would pretty much be screwed in the winter months.
Agreed 100%. I LOL at statements like this;

The Vikes playoff record at the old Met is 7-4.
I believe when the Vikes moved inside they lost a big part of their identity and playing indoors takes away some of the home field advantage, especially when warm weather teams visit.
Those playoff victories have more to do with the teams we fielded during the late 70's & 80's, more so than it did with the cold. I give credit to the team for those wins, not the cold. That statement is a slap in the face to the likes of Tarkenton, Eller, Page, Marshall, Foreman & Grant.
