Does This Sound Strange To You?

Frazier: Dolphins Decision Could Come This Week
The Vikings continue to deny local reporters access to defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, but Frazier continues to speak freely with the Miami media. In his latest interview, Frazier told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the Miami Dolphins might decide on a new head coach as early as this week.

Frazier is one of three known candidates for the job. Miami has also interviewed Dallas assistant Tony Sparano and former Baltimore defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, with Sparano considered the heavy favorite.

According to the Sun-Sentinel story, Parcells told Frazier that a decision could come “as soon as this week.”

Now, what's up with that bold portion of the story? Why are the Vikings not allowing him to talk with local reporters but he can talk with the Florida newspapers as much as he wants. And Frazier had a TWO DAY INTERVIEW. You don't have an interview that long just to fulfill the "Rooney Rule." Is it possible that everyone was wrong and he's got the job with Dolphins afterall. Something smells "fishy" about this whole thing.

Because our defense is so elite that any Defensive coordinator that comes in and coaches is gone the next year.

Yeah ... we are soooo Elite we finished 20th in total defense this year. Hell, we have not had and "elite" defense in 13 years. We had a really good defense last year when we finished 8th in the league, but since 1994 we have only finished in the top 10 in defense that one time, and 10 of the last 13 years we were 20th or worse. We have not be "elite" on the defensive side of the ball in a long long time.

I do not know.

Our rush D kicked ass, our pass D sucked ass.
That's a 50% grade.

If I were to get rated that I would be out of a job.

Oh come on. Get past rankings.

We have forced 82 punts this year. One of the best in the NFL. Only like 2 other teams forced more punts. Sounds elite to me.

First midgensa We rank 12th in what matters. Stopping them from scoring. 12th is pretty good. You just picked 20 because even though it was yardage it was lower then points. But thats if you want to go rankings.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/minnesotavikings/profile?team=MIN

The only reason we rank low is because our offense is utter crap. They give their offense great field position and they're on the field all the time. We have the most opportunistic team in the NFL. 8 TDs off of turnovers. That's pretty good. One of the best in the NFL in fact. We also are one of the best for 3 & outs. We stopped our opponents to 82 punts. That includes better then teams like Jacksonville with 66, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New England and Dallas. That tells me we get the most stops and therefore are elite. They won the Atlanta and New York games by themselves just by scoring on their own. Thats not counting the games like Chicago where if we had any other defense we would lose. Against Chicago they only let up 3 points that did not come off of turnovers. Jackson threw two picks that gave Chicago the ball inside the 20. At the 18 our defense was dominant enough to stop them and force 3 points. They got the ball at the 11 because of another pick and scored a TD. Other then that they kept him to 3. They nearly shut out San Francisco. When we were in Detroit, Tarvaris threw 4 picks and we still stopped them to 20 points (2 field goals and 2 touchdown). Thats pretty good and all but one of those scores came off of turnovers. Then that very game we got a defensive touchdown.

Our defense is good. When you can confidently tell your offense to score 20 points and you win... Thats an championship defense.

Wish we could produce head coach candidate offensive coordinators too.
:-\

If Frazier gets the job, I hope him the best. We have enough talent on the defensive side to keep the motor running with someone new.
