Re: Do you remember your FIRST VIKINGS GAME you attended?

    Heck yeah!
Drove 14 hours with my ex-ex girlfriend, who may currently still be on the member list (vikingbabe?).
Spent Saturday exploring the Mall of America and meeting Joey Browner (fellow Warren, OH Raider), and Sunday Sept 25th, 2005 watching the Vikings dismantle the Saints 33-17.
Their first win that season, and quite a birthday present (bday's actually the 26th).
That whole weekend was a wonderful experience.
Hopefully I'm lucky enough to experience it again.
It won't happen this year, but hopefully soon.

Christmas Day 1989 - Monday Night Football.
If the Vikings win, they go to the playoffs, if they lose, the Packers get in.
There were many Cheeseheads in the crowd, but all left crying in their beer.
Vikes 29 - Bengals 21...winning TD - a fourth and goal fade pass to Brent Novoselsky from Whisky Wade Wilson.

    Great First Vikings Game!
Here's to more great wins in 2007!!

Not really, I remember being cold and the Vikings won.
    Had fun.
That was back in the mid 1960s.

My first Vikings game was Tice's first game as Head Coach...the makeup Monday Night game in Baltimore.
Spermyum Winn started at QB...and needless to say, we lost.
It was cold as heck as well...but I still enjoyed myself.
I have been to one other against the Ravens, two against the Skins in DC...and two games in the Metrodome (Packers, when Edinger won it with the last second FG, and the Bears last year, where we fumbled away a sure win).
I look forward to the games this season...with us winning them this time.

Thats kinda suprising to me Cajun, I would have figured you went long before Tice's era....But at least you have the fever now...... ;D

Re: Do you remember your FIRST VIKINGS GAME you attended?

My very first game was in San Francisco in 1976.
The 49ers started a QB named Scott Bull (or something like that) As far as I know, that may have been the only game he ever won in his career.
Yes, my beloved Vikes lost on Monday night to some no name QB.

    It was raining that night.
I remember the Vikes coming out after halftime wearing clean dry white uniforms.
(They probably should have spent more time talking about the game and less time with their cloths)

Before the game, I remember going down to field level to see players like Page, Krause, Foreman, and Tarkington......
but for some dumb reason I spent more time following Howard Cosell around....cracking up when he talked. (I was 12 and easily amused)

Since that time I have seen the team play many many times. Minnesota, Arizona, San Diego, Los Angeles (against both the rams and raiders), Seattle, Oakland, and San Francisco.
Of all the games....there are three that stand out the most.
The San Francisco game where Steve Young had his crazy highlight run....a few years ago...opening day in Minnesota against the Cowboys....and that first game so many many years ago!

I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Is there something you're trying to tell us, Cajun?

    Dec. 6th, 1992.
    Veteran's Stadium, Philadelphia.
I was living in NYC at the time, so I took a train down to my buddy Mike's house (he's a huge Vikings fan) and we drove down to Philly for the game.
I had one piece of Vikings stuff on, a hat (it was butt-ass cold), and that was still enough for me to get loads of crap in the parking lot.

Vikes lost 28-17, which was probably a good thing for my safety.
Not a pleasant place to watch a game for a visiting fan.

    =Z=

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

August 6th 1983 Wembley Stadium. The Vikes beat St. Louis Cardinals 27-10 and I had the pleasure of pissing off a lot of Cards fans who were sat couple of rows behind me... especially as they started on about " that damn Brit who knows nothing about football" when they realised I was cheering for the Purple
    ;D

Little did I know at the time the depth of quality players that were on the roster for that game and season. Just wish I could have seen more games that season to see some more of those players
