Do you ever get depressed being a Vikings fan?
I was working today, and memories of the NFC championship game came into my mind, followed by a wave of depression. I just feel like we will never win a championship, doomed for eternity. Last year was our best chance and we blew it. I'm just wondering if anyone out there is still optimistic or if people feel as hopeless as I do.
Feel free to turn this into a thread about hating Chilly and Tjack and about how we won't win anything until we get a new coach and QB
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

Starting to sound like Browns fans... will we win one? Maybe. I thought we'd win one before the Saints, but oh well.
If the Lions win one before us, it will be tough to watch football ever again.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Re:Do you ever get depressed being a Vikings fan?
I must admit that I often wonder why other franchises can rise from the depths of ineptness and capture prize, yet we never seem to be able to.
But "depressed"? No...not really. More like frustrated. I keep hoping that "maybe this year we'll begin the dynasty"...and go on to capture multiple titles like the 49'ers did, or the Cowboys, or even the Steelers...
Of course, Chiller and Jackson aren't helping any....

Re:Do you ever get depressed being a Vikings fan?
I didn't mind getting stomped by better teams.
But this propensity to find a way to lose, when you are obviously a better team, defines and haunts Vilings fans forever, until they finally win one.
No way the Vikings of 1998 lose to Atlanta or Denver that year.
And no way they lose to the Saints last year.
Last year was our year, and we beat ourselves.
That is the depressing truth.
Now, get focused/pissed, learn from it, and win it all this year.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

There's some room over here. As long as you don't get on the season ticket list. That one's long enough as it is.

I'm only depressed between the last Vikings game of the year and the NFL draft. When I saddle up again to see if THIS IS THE YEAR when I can skip my depression.

Re:Do you ever get depressed being a Vikings fan?
Depressed? Never.
Angry? Yep.
Frustrated? More like the word for me. Like all of us 45+ year-old, life long Vikes fans, I've suffered gut wrenching losses since I can remember. I've also enjoyed many great times with friends and family watching our beloved Vikes. The NFC Championship Game (2010 version), is one of a long list of agonizing defeats. I don't get depressed anymore. I try not to overreact to things I disagree with anymore. I try not to get to "enthusiastic" anymore. That said, I love the Vikes, the tradition, the history, and, frankly, the current Team.
Like Childress or not (I do), he has progressed this franchise every year he's been here. Like Spielman or not, he is a highly respected NFL front office executive. Wilf, sorry, how could you not like him??? Depressed, no way.
SKOL Vikings!
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent
