Re: Do We Know More Now About the Vikings?

People also need to realize the explosiveness the Vikings had in the late 90s and early 2000s doesn't come around too often.
As we all know our defense suffered for a long time because of it.

It seems we are now developing a team that will have the balance needed to be successful.
We know the defense is there.
The offense has potential but right now it is a project.
We have to give it time to grow under the WCO that has only been used in MN 1 year.
What I'm hoping for this year is improvement upon last year.
More 6s in the redzone instead of 3s.
We may not win 9 or 10 games but it's not too far of a stretch that we do.
I would be very happy to make the playoffs and build off that for next year.
Even if we don't make the playoffs but we improve from last year it is a plus.
    Nothing wrong with that.
For now all we can do is be patient and see if the system fits.
It seems Chilly is picking the right players to work the system.
It remains to be seen if they can produce in the system.

Bevell and Childress have many of the same philosophies but if the exhibition games were any indication Bevell might be more willing to go downfield with the ball.
I for one am excited that we will run a version of the WCO that is predicated on ball control vice chucking it deep every play.

    Face it.
Until we see the Randy Ratio again some Vikes fans just aren't ever gonna be happy and will always call this type of offense bland.
    Very sad indeed.
I always thought MN Vikings fans were better than that.
    Seems I have been mistaken.
    :'(
I think at times, people are confusing bland with the inability to score.
Our offense is bland because it can't score.
When it begins to score . . . I bet you'll see the word bland disappear . . . regardless if it's a deep pass or a 5 yard run.

All of the problems with the offense have nothing to do with it being bland, they come from not executing it properly.
