Do Not Panic Yet! Do Not...

This is no time to panic, who am I trying to kid. Run for the exit!

Seriously though, it is definitely time for alarm but please don't panic.

    Points to consider:

    1) New OC (this season..looney and team in transition)
    2) Birk Injured
    3) Turnovers
    4) DCs bad start
    5) Weak Division

All 4 are correctable, these are all things that are in our control.

OC is still in transition, they are trying to get the sideline booth QB thing straightened out. The OC has been forced to call a come from behind gameplan because of our TO ratio, 12 in two games.

Birk's position is the most important one on the O line, he is missed by all. Withrow needs to step it up, along with the other whales in that pod.

Bennett had 3 carries for 36 yards. Take away his TOs and it looks promising. Daunte didn't have terrible numbers either until you look at the TOs.

DC has got to stop throwing INTs. He is trying to do too much.

We have all of our Division games left to play.

True, it is way too early to panic, but definitley time to be concerned.

Re: Do Not Panic Yet! Do Not...

We have sprained our ankle on a crack in the sidewalk before we have had a chance to get to jogging speed. We don't even know how fast we can go.

We need to get a win under our belt this week to cause that swelling to go down and closer to getting back to normal.

Notice how I left Tice and Moss out of the Points to consider. Those 2 things are things that can't be controlled at this time. We can't get Moss back and we can't let Tice go without the attitude that we are willing to tank the season.

Why don't we just have Brad Johnson call the plays??? Loney Blows.

I'm still convined the only problem is the new center has way too much ass sweat.

I would die if Tice came on in his interview and said the #1 cause for our mishap is that our center has hyperhydrosis of the ass.

Good point, I forgot about that ailment. It's nice to have the problem identified. I wonder if a strategically placed tampon would help?

Good points snow. Contrell is known for slow starts and finishing strong. I am not panicking just yet, but I am concerned. If we lose Sunday I might panic.

Re: Do Not Panic Yet! Do Not...

When Linehan became O coordinator his first 3 games sucked and Tice ended up calling a couple of games, and that worked out OK. Give this some time guys!!

Look at this way, we are 1 game out of 1st place in our division. Granted those games were horrible, but it is not time to panic yet!!

We are in a weak division, and have a good chance if things come together. I would not jump off the wagon yet.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

This article says we are already hitting the panic button.

Meltdown against Bengals exposes Vikings as team rife with uncertainty

    By SEAN JENSEN

    St. Paul Pioneer Press

CINCINNATI - Coach Mike Tice and quarterback Daunte Culpepper said the Minnesota Vikings weren't pushing the panic button after an alarming 24-13 loss in the season opener at the Metrodome.

Following a 37-8 blowout loss Sundayto the Cincinnati Bengals in front of 65,763 at Paul Brown Stadium, the Vikings certainly cracked the protective case and sounded the emergency alarms at Winter Park.
