A week ago people were talking about throwing the season and/or looking forward to one of the first picks in the draft, firing Childress & pooh-canning T-Jack in favor of Pennington or Carr.

Now they'll be talking division champs.
    That is funny Sing.
A week ago the threads were about getting the number one pick in the draft. Ha Ha.

That's what I'm talking about. Now watch them change their tune.

So what are you saying, you're going to complain either way?

I don't think anyones going to post an article saying. The vikings are mediocre, We won't make the playoffs, but lets keep everything the same.

People are going to react to what team they've seen the most recently, because the team last week
is closer to who we will be this week than the team of 2 weeks ago. It's an ongoing progression.
I think that's a great point, but things should be kept in perspective.
What I'm trying to suggest, and I think singersp is saying the same thing, is that there's more to the team than whether you won or lost the last game.

If Longwell misses that field goal, the rest of the game still played out exactly the same way.
But are we then a terrible team?
Does him making the field goal make us a great team?
Look at what we actually did well and what we did poorly, and realize that our last game is more than a win or a loss or just a few stats.

This stuff bugs me from people in the media, because they don't actually watch the game, they just grab some tidbit and take it out of context.
How about the Peter King suggestion that AD should get 80% of the carries when we just ran the ball about 45 times?
Don Banks decided that Tarvaris Jackson had a terrible game and is a bad QB because he was 9 of 23 for under 150 yards, without any comment (and my guess is no idea) that his receivers had 6-8 drops or that Tarvaris made all the right reads.

It's not such a big deal from people here, we're just all being emotional.
But for the sake of your sanity, sometimes it's a good idea to keep it in check.

But hey, we all like to read or hear about the Vikes.
Personally, I think us winning the division is a very long shot based on the number of wins we'd have to pick up and the lack of consistancy our team has demonstrated.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Tom Jackson said that the Vikings will not only make the playoffs, but win the NFC North over the Packers!

While I am alot more excited about this team after AP's preformance last week. I don't see this team making the playoffs...this year.
I think this was Shaun King not Jackson.

A thread titled. "Winning Record?" Would be acceptable.

A thread titled. "Division Champs?" is a bit out there. Us fans should take it one game at a time, just like the players should.

So right now, the goal is 3-3.

    I don't want a playoff victory.
    I want a Super Bowl.

I am tired of making the playoffs and being disappointed.
    Its all or nothing.

I don't know if you read my original post, but Tom Jackson was the who said this team would be the divison champs.
I posted it because I thought it was interesting, not because I agree with it.

    Re: Divison Champs?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I think that we have a good chance of getting hot and making a playoff run, but we have to play in Dallas first. The proverbial one game at a time is at hand.
Sure we could lose to Dallas and it is not the end of the world, but if we can find a way to win this weekend ... then the NFL might have to look out as a young fired-up squad with a hard-hitting ball-hawking defense and a superstud back may be making its move a year or two earlier than most had expected.
