No.
You do not get benched for improving.

Damnit C Mac, I just laughed hard enough to choke on my sushi.
NOT a good feeling.
It is true though.
While I will say that TJack's second eight games was better than his first, it still wasn't enough improvement to satisfy the masses (or the coaches).Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

TJ's improvement was marginal. I still expect to see him again before the season is over. Hope he's still working hard.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Don't eat that crap man!
You're from North Dakota..
you're not supposed to be that cultured!
ICK!
Second, and on topic..
I wouldn't say T-Jack made a significant improvement, but there is obvious improvement there.
I often wonder, with Gus the Bus playing erratically as of late, if we haven't seen the last of T-Jack..Vegans are eating the rainforests. =(

Re: Did Tjack make significant improvements?
The fact that we are still left to debate the advantage of one of these guys over the other should drive home the point that the staff really fucked this position up over the last few years.
Is Gus better?
Is TJ better?
Who gives a shit!
After having Wilf bring in a new coach and open up the checkbook for the FO to build a winner, this is not the position to be gambling with on one end and backing up that gamble with a marginal player on the other end.
For the love of god we all just need to come to the agreement that they are both less than what we need and frankly less than what the rest of the team deserves.
Rant over.

But that is exactly what Childress was trying to find out in those first two games. Where was Jackson in his development?
Stats aside, what I saw was indecisiveness & hesitation on Jackson's part, whether or not to pass the ball. I
think it had to a lot with himself not wanting to make any mis-judgments or errors & turn the ball over.
With the fans & media scrutinizing his every move, it's easy to see what effect that plays on him.
That said to me that it was time to let him sit awhile until that hesitation is gone & his confidence at a level to where it should be.
IMO, to toss him under the bus & claim "Career Over" like a good share of the people here are doing, is too premature.

Re: Did Tjack make significant improvements?
Towards the End of last season I thought He played well enough to keep the team goin. But for some reason at the start of the season he was getting the ball out and some guys were just dropping his passes. Its hard to say whats type of improvements he's making now he's the Number 2 QB.
