With the Vikings passing attack not proving anything, Purple Jesus has run for 200+ yards twice (1st time in NFL history for a rookie) and set the all-time single-game rushing record.Frankly, I don't see Peterson even coming close to the record until we prove ourselves with our passing game.
He's basically already half-way to the all-time season record with the crappy passing game.
That ALONE suggests he can come close to, if not break, the record this season.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Dickerson doesn't want his record broken
Damn near every time this guy runs the Rock you can Tell he is trying to make that impression "I'M The Man" and it could be cuz he listens to Anthrax,But Defenses are stacking up for the Run and they don't stop at least not til aftre he gets a couple yards after the Contact so right now his average has been pretty close to a little over 6 yards per carry I see him getting that record.

Re: Dickerson doesn't want his record broken
Wow, I'm impressed by Dickerson looking at it from a real stand point instead of the usual either too nice or pissy about how there should be an asterisk because he was better blah
blah.
Purple Jesus taking that record down either way though, sorry Dickerson.

True...as much as it will mean to AP, it means a great deal to the guys on the line. I remember when OJ went over 2000 yds against the Jets. I think Reggie McKenzie was happier and prouder than OJ. You play with pride, and you're a much better player (and a better team). The Rookie record should fall, but the single season record, which Peterson is just under halfway to, will be a truly amazing feat if he breaks it.
This will be fun to watch.
I think that the TEAM is going to take even more pride inthe blocking and running game knowing it is a possibility to help AD get there.
The amazing part is that the other teams know we are going to run it, and we will have to overcome that fact.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken

Re: Dickerson doesn't want his record broken
Who we've already played:
Atlanta: 23rd in rush defense
Detroit: 12th in rush defense
Kansas City: 14th
Green Bay: 8th
Chicago: 26th
Dallas: 5th
Philadelphia: 7th
San Diego: 22nd
An average of 14th overall in rush defense.
Our remaining opponents:
Green Bay: 8th in rush defense
Oakland: 30th in rush defense
New York Giants: 11th in rush defense
Detroit: 12th
San Francisco: 24th
Chicago: 26th
Washington: 9th
Denver: 32nd in rush defense
An average of 19th overall.
So far we've played against better rush defenses this season than we will for the rest and Peterson was getting far fewer carries early on than he will for the rest of this year so his yards per game will hopefully increase.
Statistically some of the remaining teams have pretty good rush defenses, however, I don't think any of them besides Washington and Green Bay match up at all against our offensive line(and running back
;D).
I'm really looking forward to seeing Adrian run against the remaining eight teams on our schedule.
Against the worst rush defense in the league could we see a new NFL single season rushing record set?

Re: Dickerson doesn't want his record broken
How many 200+ yard games is AD going to have?
I think there are a handful of players who had 4 in a career.
Earl Campell had 4 in one year but never again.
I think Simpson and Sanders had 4.
AD has had 2 in his first 8 games.
Purple Jesus Christ!!!
He may set a whole new category----most 300+ yard games...lol.
