“I’ve been on the outside of Viking football before. I’ve seen what they’ve been all about. I’m just, not in comparing years past, I want us to have a hard-nose attitude, to play tough, Minnesota Viking football. Hopefully, we have a number of different schemes that we’re using. I’m not going to walk in here and say, ‘Hey, I’m just a zone-scheme guy or just a man-scheme guy.’ We have really what we consider four different schemes. Man schemes, draw schemes and zone schemes and then what we would call our gap schemes.

Oh brother.

If my contention is correct, "We had issues blocking when we shifted from the ZB scheme to Man scheme during an audible", what will this mean.

Hell, these guys couldn't get two schemes down, how they gonna get 4 down?

WOW. Talk about maximizing your players potential/putting your players in a position to succeed. LOL

confusion? no.

I'l freely admit I am not familiar with all the blocking schemes, but expecting a young group of struggling linemen to learn 4 schemes seems like a mighty tall order, unelss I'm missing something.

UNLESS he's simply referring to not using the same blocking style on every play (ex. zone on run and man on pass)

obviously zone blocking on a draw or screen doesn't really help. If that's what is meant, than I'd imagine it's what all teams do.

No, I thought the head slap was pointed at my assumption about the shift in blocking schemes during audibles.

If its about 4 schemes, then yes, I like the headslappy emoticon.

Of course you can. Shouldn't even need to ask. :laugh:

On a side note, can you imagine how hard its going to be for me to chart 4 blocking schemes instead of just 2.

At some point someone is going to have to get me coaches tape.

I'll talk to the waterboy, he's usually good for things like that.
