Vikings re-sign veteran P Darren Bennett

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota (Ticker) - The Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday re-signed veteran punter Darren Bennett.

Terms were not disclosed.

Bennett, 40, spent last season with the Vikings, averaging 39.3 yards per punt. He was not re-signed in the offseason and the Vikings have used Chris Kluwe, who has averaged 45.3 yards on 58 punts this season.

A former Australian Rules Football player, Bennett is a two-time Pro Bowler and a member of the NFL's Team of the Decade in the 1990s. He has averaged 43.5 yards on 828 career punts

That sucks, I can kick farther than that guy. We should have just kept Edinger at the punter.

ATLEAST most of our games are in doors so he can't blame it on the wind !!

he'll be just fine for our needs, our defense will stop the other teams offense no matter where they start (hopefully!)

Along with Bennett, they tried out Leo Araguz & Nick Murphy.

Darren must have done yhe best of the 3.
