AD should have taken the inside guy. Clearly he didn't know both were coming. Fault? Pre-snap read was wrong.

Tahi clearly tried to engage a guy who dropped back into coverage. Again, Fault? Pre-snap read.

    Gotta agree, poor damn execution.

As I said to Sooner though. Who is at fault? The staff, did they show enough tape? The players, the saw the tape, but still got confused by what they saw.

Goes back to the Aints game when we were trying to pass into what looked like an all out blitz only to find out that the defense dropped into a 3-8 look.

Obviously someone is missing something. STarts in prep leading up to the game, the box crew during the game, the coaching staff on the sidelines trying to explain what the box is seeing and the players not executing what is being told to them.

AGain, someone isn't getting it right.

I think its more like the Sasquatch or Loch Ness Monster. A myth, but some reported sightings sometime around last year.
Vikings had the 2nd highest scoring offense in the NFL last year, it wasn't a myth and it wasn't sometimes seen. As demonstrated last year, given strong QB play, the offense we're running is extremely effective.

This is what Percy Harvin said:

"Hopefully [in the future] we can just open it up from the jump street," Harvin said, "and not have to fight back at the end of the game. If we had come out and had some of the play calling we had in the second half, I think it would be a different outcome."

I believe that says it all. I saw Moss on the sideline with Bevell tweaking some of the plays that they would run. This is happening in the 4th quarter. Little late isn't it?

So, it takes Childress 3 years to implement his scheme, and now we're on year 5 and we're 1-3?
    None

Hey Mike, Mars was telling me this was your first live game. Sorry for the let down. Next one will be better or the beers are on me.

I think what you were seeing was Randy trying to tell Bevs what he felt he could do against the coverages while looking at the playbook and not so much him changing any plays.

Until they get the verbiage down, my guess is we will see that kindof stuff happening between Randy and the rest of the team/staff.

This is CLEARLY a coaching issue that has plagued this staff from Day 1 in Minnesota.

They almost ALWAYS start very conservatively and very slow. This has GOT to change.

It cost us a game last night ... it cost us a game in Chicago last season that may have given us home field against the Saints.

It cost us a game against New Orleans this season.

I LOVE feeding AD the rock early ... but if that is all you do and you call predictable short route pass plays that don't have enough receiving options you are limiting the immense amount of skill player talent we have and focusing too much of the offense on a suspect offensive line.

I am very curious to see what this staff comes out with against Dallas this week. We came out slow against them in the playoffs last season before destroying them ... lets just destroy them from the get go on Sunday.

The biggest problem is our QB. One has to understand Favre will be worse in December, the last two years he has.

He misses passes, misses open receivers. He is the second or third worst QB in the league.

It is going to be a long season with him.
And YOU have to understand that in december and november favre will be playing with moss and rice and harvin and the schedule should be a cake walk. Though with our team I don't think any game will be easy, but compared to the jets pukers cowgirls and pats it will be.

    you are so right.
i see a great team, great talent just stupid players. its like they have been the best their whole lives at football so they failed to learn the game. alot of it is situational football. if you watch the jets when the are rushing the house at favre, the corners are a yard off the ball knowing favre wont have time to throw a 20 yard pass. the safeties are up. our D doesnt do that. our safeties have to be the worst in the NFL. MW is a great guy but a $hitty safety. am i the only one seeing it??? god i hope not.
then look at our Oline, pick up a blitz please!! i beg you. they over loaded one side and brought the house. always 1 guy getting through. the 2nd half they started sliding over and it worked. Did it really take a whole half to figure that out? bad coaching is what i see. then the RB's ability to pass protect is a joke. AP looks like a 3 year old out there who is scared to hit somebody and Tahi just sets to the side no one is coming. are the coaches not ripping these guys new A-holes in the film room? its the same story week in and week out and nothing is getting fixed!! WHY????

Peterson is not the sharpest tool in the shed and has not mastered the concept of blocking.

If he has the ball in his hand he's a beast......without the ball he's a pussycat.

The coaches just need to work with him on this.
It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

I think it is pretty widely known that I was one of the very first members of fire Childress Anonymous but I am going to disagree with you a bit on this post.

If you go back to the first year Childress was coaching, it was pretty standard fare that the team would go down the field on the first drive of the game and score points. But then after that the defenses would make adjustments and the offense would stall out the rest of the game. That to me said that the staff was actually doing a decent job of preparing the team because the initial scripted plays worked well and the team executed them successfully.Coming out in the 2nd half the team was not making good adjustments like the opposition was and that IMHO was the biggest problem with the beginning of his career.

Fast forward to this year and I am seeing pretty much the opposite where we are starting slow and it has been taking until the 2nd half to get things going. To me that says for whatever reason they have improved their ability to make adjustments to the defense (I credit this with the addition of Brett, who like him or not is excellent at knowing how to react to changes in defensive formations)but they just don't look like they are ready to play at the beginning of the game. To me it seems that the team is not buying into the gameplan the staff is putting together and they are not focused on the task at hand.

Part of me wonders if Childress is losing the proverbial locker room.
