    Dante?????

I heard rumors Dante Stallworth is available for trade.
    What does everyone think?
We do need a WR and he's pretty good IMO.
I'm not sure TW is ready to take on the #1 role yet.
I'm not sure what NO is asking but whatever it is may be worth it at this point.

I thought he re-signed with the Saints. He was available, but I don't think NO is gonna release or trade him

First, thank God this wasn't a misspelled Daunte thread.

Stallworth is in the class with Lelie and he has been less than spectacular.
I wouldn't take him unless it was for chump change.
Last I read he was riddled by injuries and was potentiall getting cut.
He said he was going to prove his worth against the girls and went 2/15/0.
His career has been lackluster and mired by hamstring injuries.
    Nothing great, another dime-a-dozen WR.

That's what I was thinking too! I was like "Oh no...here we go again!"

I knew people would mistake this for Pep.
I figured it may draw some attention.
Prophet I have to agree with you regarding his injuries.
However, if he's healthy he can be a force.
I think he has more talent than what we have at the moment.
    Just my opinion.
I'm not degrading what we have but we need someone with as much talent as Koren.
That was even a question mark.
We may have people waiting that are able to pick up the slack.
Ryan Hoag, Chris Jones, Rich Angulo may be able to step in.
I just think we need more experience and Stallworth fits the bill and brings talent.

The health thing we can say that about a lot of people (which we do).
    MeMo for one.
Sometimes it's risks you have to take.
    Injuries can happen to anyone.

The other name is Charles Rodgers from Detroit.
I don't think the Lions would trade him to us but I think he'd be a good pick up too if it weren't for his injuries.
He kind of fits in the same category.

There isn't a whole lot of available, experienced talent.
Sometimes you have to go with what can improve your team.

I swear Travis Taylor has to be one of the most underated players in today's NFL.
He is better than Lelie, Porter, and waaayy better than Stallworth.
The only good thing about Dante is his surname.

Charles Rodger is soon to be waiver wire fodder.
He's worthless for reasons mentioned in the thread about him.

I agree that with sometimes you have to go with what you can to improve your team and I don't think picking up Stallworth is the answer.
    He's not worth it.
I've seen him play with the Saints and have not been impressed.
There is no reason to run out and pick someone up just for the sake of picking someone up.
There are still two preseason games and a few months left before the trade deadline.
If that perceived gap is real it will be addressed.
I have no reason to believe it won't based on what the team has done this offseason.

    Re: Dante?????

From what I've seen of this offense, we don't need a so-called #1, especially not some bum we'll end up giving too much for (oh, hi there Mr. Spielman). The passing aspect of this offense is predicated on the short, accuruate pass with an occasional deep ball threat to spread the defense (something Troy can handle just fine). Poppycock to a traditional #1 receiver.
