I'd like to see him as a 3 technique. It seems like he'd be more naturally suited there, but it's hard to get playing time when a team has Kevin Williams locking that shit down for a decade.

Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't Floyd supposed to take Williams spot? I was thinking another DT was a major need.

I don't see ANYONE (including even Ponder) being cut immediately (barring a huge payout the team has to avoid) until Zimmer gets a look-see.

Zimmer (in my opinion) will want to run with a clean slate on ALL these guys, and look to see if he can use them in the schemes he has planned for our team. Just because a player was under-whelming for our previous coach doesn't mean he is useless, it just means he didn't fit well before Zimmer got there.

Look at Warren Sapp; he was a nightmare in Tampa in their system, but he was stymied again and again by what the Raiders tried to do with him. He was the SAME GUY, but in the NFL, you need to use players correctly for them to shine; The opposition is just too good.

I see no real benefit in keeping him. So I'm good with that.

    cut letroy guion

He getting paid 4.5 mill a year and Linval Joseph will probably cost 8 mill a year, cut him and pay him and that would be a big upgrade on tha d line

It becomes a little harder to simply cut one of your 4 starting DL when you have 2 other DL that could be lost to FA. They'll wait to see how it all shakes out, but Guion should be put back to play at his natural position at the very least.

    I agree.

I think that he has been somewhat productive, especially for where we got him in the draft and some of the early issues he had. I also think that he needs to be moved to his natural position and given a chance. One thing is for sure ... whether we keep him or not he will be playing somewhere in the league. He is a more than serviceable No. 3 DT at worst.
