Vikings put Culpepper on IR

Backups Johnson, Hill move forward to fill quarterback void
The Vikings today placed quarterback Daunte Culpepper on injured reserve, officially ending his season, and promoted running back Adimchinobe Echemandu from the practice squad.

For now, the Vikings have decided not to sign a No. 3 quarterback to back up Brad Johnson and Shaun Hill. Culpepper will undergo surgery this month to repair three torn ligaments in his right knee.

The Vikings made one other move Tuesday, releasing wide receiver Jason Anderson from the practice squad and adding wide receiver Kelvin Kight to the practice squad.

Minnesota didn't immediately sign another quarterback and coach Mike Tice indicated Monday that the team might not do so right away - or perhaps even play the rest of the year with just two.

I really liked him when I watched him in the preseason games.

I wonder if this means Moe is out this weekend?

I like him but I'd rather see Fason finally get his shot. I still think Tice is a HUGE idiot for not giving Fason a shot yet... that is if Fason is able to play. I haven't heard anything on him but far as I know he's healthy. Plus, we spent a 3rd round pick on this guy and he doesn't have any carries this season if I'm not mistaken.

it was a 4th rounder, 3rd round was dustin Fox.
