Cris Carter analysis of the Vikings
Exerpt from Cris Carter's article (listed on PP's homepage):
The thing that concerns me about the Minnesota Vikings is that they have not caused a team to punt a lot. They hadn't forced teams to go three-and-out the first two weeks of the season. Another worry is their inability to be as dominant in the red zone as they are between the 20-yard lines. Those are the questions marks of the Vikings.
===============================================
That is our problem in a nutshell. It is all about making the big plays when it counts. Any team can drive the ball between the 20s or stop teams on 1st and 2nd down. The great teams score in the red zone and make the other team punt instead of score. For the Vikings to make the quantum leap to one of the elite teams in the NFL, that is what they will have to do.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

RIght on, we can only hope the line we are being fed about the D being young will correct itself by mid season.
Also, we need better playcalling and efficiency in the red zone.

If the players would execute in the red zone, the playcalling wouldn't matter much.

I don't think they are working the players with the skills to score. I think they are just pulling a play from their ass and sending down to the huddle. It has sure smelt like ass so far.

Witness this exchange:
Pep: Hey Coach Linehan, what's the next play?
Liney: Hold on one sec, I gotta run to the restroom to access the playlist in my secret hiding place.
(Theme from Jeopardy playing in the background)
Liney: OK, Pep, this is the call...Fudge overload, Brown left, Out house...on #2
Pep: Aw coach, not that crappy play again.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

That is very similar two how it went down. NFL Total Access has footage of it and it will air later this week.

LOL, snowinapril! I knew that I could count on you to provide the details. I just hope that NFL "Total Access" doesn't mean that they will be using the "Procto-cam". Maybe for sweeps week, though.

I hope Tice could read Carter's analysis on the Vikings. This could be an eye opener.
