Quinn is ready to start as a rookie and would be more productive than Jackson.
If we draft Quinn then we are laying to foundations to a great offense, with a solid O line, Good funning back and full back, and a smart patient Quarterback.
then all that would be needed are some play making recievers, and a tight end.
It was previously based on Childress' comments that he was going with Bollinger and TJack.
Now he has backed down on those comments as of a couple days ago.
It's all a smokescreen from here on out with our only clues being given based on FA acquisitions.
But for the sake of our team i pray we dont get garcia,
I think he is overrated.Losers find excuses, Winners find a way!

Man, I have been waiting for someone like you who gets it.As weird as it is to say, the defense is not the weak link of this team anymore.. If Childress goes with anything other then offense with the first pick, and with that I mean (Trade the pick for a experienced WR, draft a WR with that pick, or get a great offensive linemen.) then he needs to be stripped of all of his power..
Some others on here as well get it, but most don't.
If you cannot score any points, no matter how good your defense is, you will never go far.
We must draft WR.
No getting around it.

Re: Could Vikings' Run Defense Get Better in 2007?
We just spent a second round pick on a quarterback last year who hasn't gottena
real chance.
We won't be drafting a Quarterback.
Brady Quinn isn't that good and I think will be a huge bust in the NFL.
It would be dumb to draft a quarterback in this draft (not only because we have an investment in Tarvaris but also) because he still needs a team around him.
The run defense can get better but I'm not worried about it right now.
If our run defense regresses a little at the expense of making a significant improvement in our pass defense then it is a good trade-off I think.
If both can improve, that is ideal.
Pat Williams has a lot left in the tank. When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

dare i ask the relevance of this to the chances of our rush defence getting better?
we did well last year cause people were just passing on us...we don't know how well our rush defence can perform under normal circumstances...
the one main thing that can help both our pass and rush defence next year is field position...if we move the ball, they are defending a longer field and have to mix it up more~~I'm but one Vikings fan in a sea of Frudge Packers!!!~~

Re: Could Vikings' Run Defense Get Better in 2007?
Overrated? Are you kidding me? Im in no means a Jeff Garcia fan in any respects but the guy has been doubted his entire career. I dont remember any expert predicting Garcia could keep the 49ers competitive following Young's retirement and he did. Aside from that, nobody even cared where Garcia was after his trips to Cleveland and Detroit. But for the sake of our team i pray we dont get garcia,
I think he is overrated.
The guy isnt overrated, actually...too many people find him worthless. I didnt think he would do squat with the Eagles after McNabb went down.
We all saw what happened from there.
Garcia wouldnt be the worst thing in the world for the Vikes in 07. He runs the West Coast Offense well and even though I dont think he is a Super Bowl-Calibur QB, he is the best option out there.

I don`t see the problem with bringing garcia in till jackson is ready. I really don`t think bolinger is worth a dime.

LOL.
I love how threads get off topic.
This one is titled "Could Vikings' Run Defense Get Better in 2007?".
Yet the post before mine talks about our QB situation. ;D
This thread has officially been hijacked. ;DZeus wrote:

Our Rush Defense was truly OVERRATED!
Nobody ran on us . . . they didn't need to!
Overall the defense improved and I am looking forward to that trend continuing!
