Steve LaCroix, Vikings vice president of sales and marketing and chief marketing officer, said today that the team has “had discussions with the Minnesota State Lottery marketing stuff,” and is investigating the potential of a partnership.

They're really trying to avoid the inevitable move to Canada.

    OK

So then of course this is going to beg the question:

If a new stadium is going to create so much revenue and pay for itself so quickly, then why are teams like the Pats, Redskins, Titans and Lions all looking toward this additional funding? Every one of them have the luxury boxes, club seats and concessions that we are told the Vikings need to be profitable.

Are we now finding that even the new stadiums are not cost effective? Not that I would be surprised, but obviously these teams are having revenue troubles if they are seeking this.

Or they see it as a way to generate even more non-shared revenue.
I am guessing it is the latter.
The Pats have already paid off their stadium, early in fact.

That's like saying, just because you got a raise you wouldn't want another raise.
Silly statement if you ask me.
Why take more money if you can have even more?
    It's never "enough" money.

Every avenue will be explored, every way possible, to get a stadium, the rich find ways to get richer.
