Constructive Critisicm from the Atlanta Game

OK, we all loved the Vikings game last Sunday.
6 sacks, 2 pick 6's, AD taking it to the house...
But there is always room for improvement.
I am starting this thread to discuss those.

    I'll start.
Try as I may, I can only find one real complaint from yesterday's game.
Two of the passes TJack threw could have/should have been easy picks.
One was off target, and one was flat.
His decision making is sound, but he needs to tighten in those passes a little bit or when we play Chicago, it will be a very different story.

I think Tarvaris was a little fired up early, and really threw the ball too hard on the 1 pick. But I see a guy that's going to manage the game and not make mistakes, just has to use the skill players around him. It was the first game, and we do need to get better on offense. We must score more, it's just that simple. Gotta have good drives that end in Touch Downs. The Offense will evolve and get better every week. Right now we just keep pounding the rock, and not make any turnovers, we will be fine.

Tjack looked pretty good but like you said, better touch on the ball on some passes and a couple bad decisions (basically a rookie so he will learn).

Running game. There were some running plays stopped behind the line of scrimmage. Wouldnt be that big but it was to the left with a FB. With all that money and talent that shouldnt happen.

Kicking. Nothing to complain about and Longwell actually had some to the endzone.

Defense. 3 and long. We were giving way to much cushion to some. Also how can you let Crumpler go 7 yards down the field un covered (he is their most reliable receiver).

Coaching. Grow a set and go for it on 4th and 1 from their 40. Go deep a couple more times to stretch the Def out a bit to open the run. Complete or not make them worry.

I believe that our run blocking could improve as well.
While yesterday it wasn't bad I have higher expectations for the left side of our O-line.
With the money being paid to Hutch and Mckinnie we should be able to run behind them better than we have.
Yesterday our big hole were right up the middle and a few to the right, I'm sure there were a couple to the left that I am forgeting, however there is too many runs to the left where we have no gain or a loss.
I have higher expectations for those guys.

I would also like to see Richardson in more for lead blocking, he has been really good at it his entire career, lets use it.

Gotta be careful making any kind of critisicm on this forum. People will start questioning if your really a fan, if you love farve, and maybe even your sexuality.

TJ needs to improve alot by the time we play a real good D.

Other then Hicks's brain fart, did the oline have any penalties? The Oline was much better then I thought it would be.

D needs to pick it up on 3rd down. Other then that they were incredible.

Would be nice to have a good return game.

The passing game has to improve plain and simple. Good teams will put 8 in the box and stop the run forcing us to do something with our passing game. AP wont break a big one every game to bail the O out. (it would be nice if he did though)

Speaking of return game. I was pretty happy, no fumbles, penalties, etc.
I am concerned about using our #1 WR as our PR and our #2 WR as our KR.

Allison looked good in Preseason and I think he should stay back there. Can afford to lose our best players.

Yes, Tarvaris was a little wild on a couple passes.
Greenway also was a little late in coverage on Crumpler a couple times.

    But that's being nit-picky, isn't it?

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

MeMo should be returning both kicks and punts imo. But hes always hurt. What was wrong with him sunday?

As much as i like the guy, we cant take up a spot on the roster for someone who is always hurt.
