Welllllll, you know how hard headed I can be on a subject and this is one that has chapped my ass for about 2 years now, soooooooooo, although I was extremely happy with yesterdays effort and a few KO's that last couple of weeks, I am not quite ready for another "Marrdro Eats Crow" thread."Marrdro" wrote:
Sure he can make long field goals, but he also can't kick the gol 'darnit ball past the 15 on KO's without sacrificing serious hang time to get it back there.
Most on here think my stance is just because he is an Ex-PUKER (alright it might have some play into my opinion) but the main reason I want him gone is because of KO's and the predicament he continually puts our D in.
If he gets hang time they start on the 30, if he goes for distance they cold start anyweres because our coverage guys just can't get down there to cover the guy.
FG's be damned.
Get rid of his jiggly butt for a young kid who can kick it into the endzone with some hang time. Hire a ST's coach who can work with the kid and teach him how to kick FGs at the next level.

Please tell me you've changed your mind.
Lets see how he kicks in the Iggles game (and for the slow people out there) I am talking about KO's not FG attempts...... ;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Odds are he's going to miss fron fifty+ sooner or later.
I won't blame even a playoff loss on him if that happens.

By the way, that coach screwed the pooch on clock management as well IMHO.
After the '92 season when Greeny let Gannon go, I couldn't stand him.
His teams lacked heart...no killer instinct.
Great drafts, but couldn't motivate.
I believe a good football team should NOT have to rely on
FG kicker to bail them out.
I naver blamed G. Anderson for that horrible loss.
I said it before, we had an "O" that couldn't gat one d@mn 1st down when it really mattered, and a "D: that couldn't make one d@mn stop when it really counted.
I feel just as bad for Gary Anderson, as I did and do for Bill Buckner.
Buckner's life was ruined over that muff, and that should NEVER happen.
We are all flesh and blood and our pooh smells real bad.
FYI, recently Buckner was invited back to Fenway Park and was given a standing "O".
He cried.
I hope Vikes fans can do the same for Gary A. and my bad if they already have...kudos!!!
I hold no ill will towards a guy like that, especially one that has over 2,400 career pointsMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I did kind of get the impression that folks were kind of hard on GA.
Pleas fill me in.
I know thses Boston a**h*les were relentless about their hatred for Buckner.
It was really sad, but in the end, he got at least some closure.
I'm sure GA is a great guy just like Billy Buck!A good friend will help you move...a best friend will help you move a body.

We could always get a punter that can kick off...
I'd rather do that than get rid of Longwell.I love lamp.

Minnesota Vikings
Gary Anderson
40 Consecutive FG’s & A Perfect Season
1998
Minnesota Vikings
Mitch Berger
Record 40 Kickoff Touchbacks in a Season
