Rice Breaks 1,000 Yards
By playerpress.com / December 7, 2009
Vikings receiver Sidney Rice, the NFL’s breakout player of the year in 2009, cleared the 1,000-yard mark for the season on Sunday – in just the 12th game of the year.
With seven catches for 72 yards in a loss to Arizona, Rice now has 63 catches for an NFC-leading 1,036 yards (16.4 yards per catch) on the season with four games left to play. Rice, who has become Brett Favre’s favorite target in the Hall of Fame quarterback’s comeback year, had 46 catches for 537 yards in his first two years combined.
Congrats Sidney. I think he is less than 50 yards behind Moss (the NFL leader). Not bad
Props to Sidney for reaching the 1000 yard mark. B)
That's nice to see. I hope we can hang onto him. I have a feeling he'll be putting up 1,000 yards a year for the next 8 or 9 seasons.
At least there is something positive to think about today. Congrats Sidney. Hope to see you in purple for many years.
Good job. 5 years is way too long to go between 1000 yd WR performances.
I think the more surprising thing is that Peterson only has 67 more rushing yards than Rice has receiving yards. And Rice has a better chance of getting the most yards in the NFL than peterson.
