Confidence replaces confusion on offensive line
Familiarity has been the missing piece for two Vikings projected to anchor the right side of the offensive line.

The mistakes now seem so obvious to Artis Hicks, he wonders how he could have made them in the first place...

If the right side can get settlede down, we could have one of the top 5 OL next year, which woulod make a huge difference in the development of T-Jack. I still say that Marcus Johnson would be a better fit at RG than RT

Hopefully it carries over into the season.
Re: Confidence replaces confusion on Vikings offensive line
There should be alot less thinking this year and more execution. I believe this will also cut our pre-snap penalties tremendously. Having familiarity with what you are doing will make playing more natural. Then the confidence will grow. All T-Jack, C. Taylor, and A. Peterson are gonna need is that extra split second, and better technique to open up the Running and Passing games. All this will make for more offense production. Teams won't be able to put 8 in the box on third downs anymore.
Re: Confidence replaces confusion on Vikings offensive line
Let us all just pray that our O line improves this upcoming season.
The O goes as the line goes.
If I remember correctly, Childress when first hired said in a statement, just how important the Linemen are, both O line and D.
Being said, both sides need to improve their play and hopefully Childress is giving them both some serious attention.
I think our O line will improve this season, seeing it's still the same names on the field and this will be just one more year that they all can learn from eachother and jell as one.
If our younger guys like Cook can step up and prove they belong, this will for sure help our line move in the right direction.
One thing for sure, the right side can't get much worse than they did last year.
Better days are ahead, thats for sure...
Re: Confidence replaces confusion on Vikings offensive line
I sure hope they not only recognize their mistakes from last season, but also know how to avoid them.
On a side note, I totally didn't notice this was a Star Trib article until I finished it. (One less article of reading material in the can... lol)

Isn't that what we all wondered most of last season?
I think Cook will develop into a good tackle with experience. I hope Childress designs some plays to leave Richardson in the backfield to block when Cook is up against better talent in passing situations.
I hope Hicks has learned from his film study and off season work.
But I will remain skeptical of Hicks until he shows it on the field.

Just stop the penalties in red zone, Thats what I wanna see.
