In an ideal world, Taylor will be the go-to featured back with Fason as a change-of-pace, Moore as a third-down speed option and Richardson as blocker and receiver. That's the plan for now. It could all change with one popped hamstring, but, for the time being, it's a running back committee that is one of well-defined roles. Let's see how long it lasts.
    Couldn't have said it better.

And who's vright idea was it to put Fason as our short yardage back? He's not big enough to pound it for a few yards..

There was one game wher we tried three times to pound it in (i think it was the steelers game), and we were denied all three...

Use a fullback to power the few yards!
that was the ravens game!!! we shoulda used jimmy K!!!
Yeah - in the Steelers game, it was only 2 times Fason tried to pound it in and didn't make it.

I hope the plan works...we definitely have the OL to allow the RBs to pile up the yardage!

    Re: Competition At Running Back

Alright, all you Purple Peeps! I think that finally, the Vikes will have that much needed running game behind Hutchinson, Birk, and Hicks. Richardson will be the short yardage/blocking/receiving back. Fason was never suited for that role anyway! Mewelde (if he can stay healthy) is going to be a great back, with his versatility.
Chester Taylor will show the Viking Nation why Childress had to have him. Between Mewelde, and Chester, we will finally have a great 1-2 punch!

    Re: Competition At Running Back

I like the idea of a "smashmouth" running game spearheaded by Taylor. I also like the fact we can change it up quite a bit with the shiftiness of Moore. Either way it's a good combo. I do not want to see the "RBBC" agian...yuck!

    Re: Competition At Running Back

i'm not all that worried about who gets more reps ..

with that left o-line.. the blockers we have and low level of respect they are getting..

    we'll have 1x 1000 yd runner and maybe 2 x 600

    Re: Competition At Running Back

my friend works for the Kansas City Royals baseball instructional league team, he is good friends with Moore!! It is sooo funny, he always sees me and comes up to me and says Moore will gain 1,000 yds this year!! I would love to see Moore get the start, but i think it will be Taylor with the start and Moore coming in on 3rd down or to give Taylor a breather!! that is unless nobody gets injured!!! PLZ!!!
