Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
First lets look at ours:
Week 1: tampa- 13-24 loss
---slow first half, but almost came back at the end. was alot closer than the score indicated
Week 2: @ cincy- 8-37 loss
---a better team than thought at the time, but still a very bad loss
Week 3: saints- 33-16 win
---early breaks went our way, but we still played well and got the win
Week 4: @ atl- 10-30 loss
---tough road matchup, but we still didnt play well
Week 6: @ Chicago- 3-28 loss
--- another tough game, at a place where we have struggled in the past, but the bears just beat us here
Week 7: Packers- 23-20 Win
--- big time comeback that may have slightly turned the year around
Week 8: @ Carolina- 38-13 loss
--- lost to one of the best in the confrence on the road, and lost leader and QB early in game too
Week 9: Detroit- 27-14 Win
--- solid game by offense, defense, and special teams
Week 10: @ Giants
---very tough game comming up, on the road agianst a hot Giant team, who we have lost to may times lately. probably a loss
Week 11: @ Green bay
--- throw the records out the window. Will be a close game. toss up
Week 12- Cleveland
--- at home agianst a team that will probably be out of the playoff picture, gotta take advantage. win
week 13- @ detroit
--- this may be a big game depending on the prevous few weeks, but we have thier number. Win
Week 14- Rams
--- this will be a major test for our defense, but its at home where we clearly play better. toss up
Week 15- Steelers
--- hopefully they will have clinched something so this game doesnt matter, but if not it will be another test. toss up
Week 16- @Baltimore
--- they will have nothing to play for so i think we pull one out. win
Week 17- bears
--- may decide the divison. i think we win this one just because it is at home. win
so our record would be 7-9 to 9-7
now to the bears
Week 1: @ washington 7-9 loss
---lost a close game to a so far good redskin team
Week 2: Detroit 38-6 win
---beat the team we just beat at home
Week 3: Cincy 7-24 loss
---lost to a team we lost to
Week 5: @ cleveland 10-20 loss
--- lost to a bad brown team on the road, maybe the browns are a better team than we thought...
Week 6: vikings 28-3 win
---they beat us on thier home field
Week 7: Ravens 10-6 win
--- beat a struggling team at home in a cold rainy afternoon
Week 8: @ lions 19-13 (OT) win
--- needed overtime to beat the lions
Week 9: @ saints 20-17 win
--- last second field goal beat the saints, who, like us, play much better at home.
Week 10: 49ers
---they win
Week 11: panthers
--- panthers are just too good. loss
Week 12: @ tampa
---the fact that its at tampa makes this very interesting. toss up
Week 13: Packers
---i think they win this cuz its at home. win
Week 14: @ pitt
--- tough game at the road. loss
Week 15: atlanta
--- vick and atlanta is just too good. loss
Week 16: @green bay
---may be one of farves final home games, and against a team he does well against. loss
Week 17: @ minn
--- like stated above cuz they one the road, they lose. loss
overall record: 7-9 to 8-8
although these are my (probably biased) predictions, it shows that we have a chance, but it starts this week.
Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
I was just looking at this earlier and think that it is quite possible we both go into the final game 8-7 or 7-8 or they may even come in 8-7 against out 7-8 but we would win the tie-breaker with a win because of divsion record (I pin a loss on them against G.Bay) So yes it is possible. And unlike many on this site ... I would rather be 8-8 and in the playoffs than 5-11 and picking in the top 5. I always want to win, I dont care if we are 0-12 ...
Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
if we want any chance at the playoffs i think we need to win 2 of these 4 games....giants, rams, steelers, bears
three of those are home games and we are playing good at home so far so i think our chances are preety good

Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
Yeah the bears schedule has been pretty easy. Its a possibility we could win out the rest of the season since our road games are Green Bay, Baltimore and Detroilet. The Steelers are shaky and unfamiliar with the Dome, we owe the Rams a good whoopin and the Browns stink. We will destroy the Bears at home.
OR they could play like the unconfident losers we saw on the road and ensure a new coach. Its a win-win situation.
Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
The Niners, the Packers and the Packers again are all relatively easy wins. Here's to hoping they drop one of them. Atlanta will be tough, but with their defense (especially Urlacher) that one could get tight. Tampa without Griese and with Cadillac running against Urlacher and that run defense, that one could be a Bears win. I just think the Bears need to drop a game that they SHOULD win, otherwise they go 10-6 and we have little shot at beating them out.

we totally have a chance. we just need to win some on the road.

Or we should WIN a game that we SHOULD loose..
You know what im saying - it evens up :)..
If we can beat either Giants or Steelers - of course we wont.. but still - it makes sense..

How is it.. if we both is 8-8 .. and have a tie NFC North record, how is it determined who's the winner
Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
first by records against each other
then records by divsion
then common apoints in confrnce
then common optents in the NFL
then other stuff
Re: Comparing our schedule to the bears: we have a chance
If Ben is out we have a very good chance of beating the Steelers. Their backup quarterbacks suck.
