Coaching Desision Chester OR Peterson
What would you do? A minute 50 left to go.. 70 Yards
Adrian was held in check all game with 20 yards the last 3 quarters and was lucky to get 5 yards a pop.. When they passed to him they had a LB on him right away
He is unreliable in pass protection and is known to drop the ball
Do you go with Chester in the passing situations or Adrian and hope he can bust a big play?
Personally I think Chester since they were keying on Adrian and not letting him get anything.. He was struggling to pick up the blitz and Chester has been known to make big plays
Thoughts?

its obvious we are going to pass with less than 2 minutes and no time outs.

We don't really have to choose... we have both.
They can be on the field at the same time.
Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

Obviously you go with C-Tay. Talor can pass block
& has better pass catching abilities. AD can't pass block. Why do you think he was on the sidelines?

Re: Coaching Desision Chester OR Peterson
Lot of good CT does in pass blocking when in these games where we have 2 min to go to win or tie the QB gets sacked more times then not which puts us deeper in the whole. The O-line has to do their job as well and in these situation the have been sub par at best...So in the end in might not matter who the heck you have in the backfield....If you have AP in the game the D has to account for it wither he can catch out of the backfield or not. They could careless about CT even though he can be a threat but he sure in the hell isn't a bigger threat then AP in or out of the backfield. It's like taking TO out of the offense when your going down the field one last time to win. If AP is there yea they might blitz sure they also might audible off and stack the line just to make sure he don't break a big one down the field. Which in the end makes it easier for you to pass.....You don't take the most dangerous player on your team the only one you can hang your hat on and sit him on the sidelines. That is foolish period.

Re: Coaching Desision Chester OR Peterson
I agree with Azurel...they have got to do something to mix it up.
Everytime they bring in a different package, they run the same play with that package of players.
There was a time when minnesota could call a play and be succesful with it even if the defense guessed right.
But Moss, Carter and Robert Smith no longer line up to play on sunday.
I
still think we need to hire in a "Play Call Manager" for game time.
I have seen high school games have better play calling than the Vikes.
Makes me sick that Wilf would even pay these coaches.
I haven't seen improvement from anyone.
Maybe i am wrong.
Someone name me one player that has improved this year.
Maybe b/c of injury...in any case i don't see it!Deliver us oh Lord, from the Fury of the Northmen.

Re: Coaching Desision Chester OR Peterson
Valid points
Although I kinda disagree with you saying we always use the same plays in the same formations
We run alot of 2 WR and TE set and have used many many plays
I've seen the WRs run all sorts of different routes out of this
I've seen play action
I've seen them use AP using sweeps and tosses and draws and dives out of the same formation
We are pretty predictable but not to the point where we run the same plays all the time
