Childress steers blame away from system
A day after his offense hit bottom at Green Bay, coach Brad Childress faulted the execution but stood by his scheme.

Note to Coach Childress:
The system sucks...and you need to quit calling plays.
It can't ALWAYS be "execution" problems...sometimes it's the stupid system.

Re: Childress steers blame away from system
The system might work if we had the right players, but we don't, and therefore we need to use a different system. I feel really bad saying it, but I don't see next season turning out any better we continue with this.

Err...the fact that our recievers suck might have something to do with it. Our best reciever is injury prone and can barely run, the next best was a noted dropper in Baltimore and our 3rd drops so many that he makes Travis look like Mr Stickum. Really, you can't judge this 'system' until you get players in the system.

Re: Childress steers blame away from system
The freakin' "system" needs to be implemented that best suits the abilities of the players available.
For instance, the baseball team with no power hitters tries to manufacture runs with steals and hit and run plays. They don't go up swinging for the fences everytime . Even though that system has worked for someone before. The basketball team that is better at a half-court game doesn't use the fast break game just because that system has worked for someone before. There is such a thing as playing to your strengths,Coach.

I agree and would like to add that Childress should sign players that fit his system. Take Hutchinson for example, he's never played "zone" blocking. Yet Childress wows him with a record contract for the way he's played and then tries to change him.Note to Coach Childress:

That certainly didn't work with Walker either."Caine" wrote:

He has a lot of work to do before the KAO becomes reality.

IT'S BOTHA day after the Vikings managed three first downs and 104 total yards in a 9-7 loss to Green Bay, coach Brad Childress defended his version of the West Coast scheme and suggested that poor execution -- and not philosophy

There you have it folks . . . BC doesn't get it.
He doesn't understand that when something isn't working or the correct talent isn't in place . . . you make changes.
Keep to a plan that doesn't have a chance to succeed this year and look at what happens . . . you make TICE look like a GENIUS!
