exactly. until about then the only stat i care about is W/LOnly stat that matters right now is W-1 / L-0.
Let the bean counters muddle with the rest until about the 5th, 6th or 7th game.

W/L may be all that matters, but this is still a pretty cool article.

Re: Childress Second In Coaches Ranking By ESPN
I think that Childress is likely getting high approvals ratings because not only did he win, but he also had the guts to sit a starter for disciplinary reasons and start a rookie.

Re: Childress Second In Coaches Ranking By ESPN
Well he's up to 92%
sitting on top
rookie coach of the year?
Too early for that I guess, when the packers fire MM and bench Favre and the Vikes have locked the NFC North well then I guess, oops I'm sounding like I'm from GB ;D
Good start to the year, next few games will test our coach
here's to a successful september 8)

Good to see Childress is willing to make that commitment towards righting the organization.
Great to see him being acknowledged for it.
We should also probably applaud Mr.Wilf for not intervening on the D. Smith sit out.
As for the rankings, I agree that one game does not a season make.
As far as the Vikings not being fodder for the media, I think our new coach is already a winner.

And by the way, notice that the Vikes are the 7th rated team on defense. How long has it been since we were that high?
The Vikes are 7th in the NFC on defense, and 11th in the NFL.
Compared to the defenses we have had for the last 7 years I think we are headed in the right direction and I think we finish the season in the top 10 defenses. What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Look who's up there - 4 of the top 7 are first year coaches. They will inevitably slide at some point in the season leaving the Reids and Edwards at the top IMHO
