Childress Reveals Game Plan With Detroit
http://www.startribune.com/blogs/vikings/
by Kevin Seifert - Star/Tribune Newspaper
In a rare move during a conference call today with members of the Detroit media, Vikings coach Brad Childress admitted the Vikings will open Sunday’s game in a rarely-seen formation.
Asked what he would do if RB Adrian Peterson’s knee is not 100 percent, Childress said: “We were actually thinking about putting all our running backs down and seeing if we can run with five wide receivers. I am weighing that heavily since there are no articles of war, and stay in the shotgun and have Tavaris [Jackson] dish it around.â€Â

Re: Childress Reveals Game Plan With Detroit
In a surprise move Brad Childress has announced that this Sunday he will not in fact be using a QB.
When asked about it Childress was quoted as saying "I don't think the Lions will be prepared for this crazy kick jiggly butt offensive scheme."
He would go on to say that he will just direct snap it to Adrian every time and he has the power to decide whether to run left or right.

Strange. I had heard we were going old school. Snap the ball by throwing the ball backwards. Then form a wedge and run forward. As the player with the ball is about to be tackled, he laterals it to the next guy. The same thing is every play, over and over through the whole game.
Stop that, Marinelli.
Go Vikings!

Re: Childress Reveals Game Plan With Detroit
5 WR's huh?
Rice, Wade, Williamson, Allison, and Ferguson? :P yea i doubt we'll be seeing that.
But i wouldnt mind it honestly.. if we came out in the formation the least amount of attention would be on rookie Aundrae Allison, since Ferguson and Wade are vets, Williamson has the speed, and Rice has the hands.
If Allison could run down the field almost freely.. i wouldnt mind seeing TJack toss a TD pass to #84
lol.
Or the attention on everyone else would have to leave Rice or TWill single covered deep.
I don't think we'll see it, or at least not on the first couple formations, but it would be fun and interesting if we did.

I think the ole Chiller is just messing with a few of us as well as the local sports hacks with that one but it wouldn't suprise me to see them run that play.
Kindof a reverse phycology thing maybe.
The lions won't expect it cause he said it so they run it.
Whew, the deep dark depths of the Chillers mind boggles even me.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Childress appears to be a guy with a dry sense of humor, my favorite type.
It would be fun to play with the media when they come week after week and ask almost the exact same questions.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain
