    Childress Reconsidering Play-Calling Duties?

A day after his offense failed to score a single point, Vikings coach Brad Childress seemed open to considering changes in play-calling duties and other offseason evaluations

    Good read, thanks dude.

I think it is plain as day how much needs to be evaluated, and maybe a new approach taken on... This guy is still new at this, and hopefully he can pass the playcalling off to someone else, and get this thing moving in the right direction.

That would be a great move.
Hopefully he brings in a good coordinator to do it though.
Personally I would like to see us at least go after somebody like Steve Mariucci.
Who knows if he would want to be a coordinator but Mike Martz was ok with going back to coordinator.
I think he would be a perfect fit.
He is a guy who had success running the WCO so I believe he would be a great guy to come in and teach it.
He also has worked with QBs such as Brett Favre and Steve Young, a hall of famer and a future hall of famer.

Screw the start of the 2007 season, do the change now... We are already out of the playoffs, we are starting a rookie at QB, and we really don't have anything to play for now..

In the St. Louis game, Childress should let Bevell do the playcalling.. That way he knows what he has in a OC.. I would hate to see him make the switch at the beginning of next season just to have our offense stall like this season.. He has the right idea, just the wrong timeframe

Childress, however, seemed to discount a suggestion that he might assign offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell to call plays against the Rams.

"He's continually making suggestions," Childress said. "There is always a dialogue that goes on with the offensive coaches. That's why you have those headsets on. Different guys see different things. Different guys look in different spots at different areas and then you pull all of those pieces together to look at the whole
