Childress killed the Career of Randy Moss
Well, one thing Childress can take credit for is killing the career of Randy Moss. If it wasn't for Childress, Moss would have retired a Viking IMO. Which is the way it should have been. Yes, he was moody, said stupid things like wishing he was back on the Patriots but he was one hell of a player. Your thoughts?
Any chance the vikes retire his jersey or is that for the Patriots to do?

7 years here and 3 in New England. And he never won that ring with them. Not to mention that 4 out of his 5 All-Pros were here. He is definitely a Viking for life.

Re: Childress killed the Career of Randy Moss
Childress had nothing to do with his retirement, and yes he will go to the hall as a Viking.
I seriously doubt Randy is done anyway.
We signed Aromashodu who was 25th ranked. Randy was ranked 6th or 7th best free agent wide receiver. He'll get a call from some team later this year.
Could even be the Vikings if we are doing well and have an injury.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Re: Childress killed the Career of Randy Moss
yes, he was starting to slide last season and his attitude got him in trouble, but he was forced to leave by Childress. Playing for three teams in one season, thus losing his drive to play. Hense retired, at least until someone comes begging and has a good situation for him. And I blame Childress for his part--making a rash judgement like firing Moss that set this in motion. That also got Childress fired.

Re: Childress killed the Career of Randy Moss
I agree with Childress being part of it (like the final nail in the coffin), but IMO, it was the sensationalistic Media's love-affair with Drama that ultimately killed his career. Yes, he did/said some ill-advised things, but nothing that should have put an early end to a HOF career. I firmly believe that his actions wouldn't have received the national attention they did if chuckleheads like the Joes (Buck and Theismann), among others, hadn't blown them out of proportion.

Drama always followed him about and that was the not so nice aspect of him. On the other hand you could also say that Randy finished off Childress's stint with the team. After he was waived Zygi saw the feelings from the fanbase and I think that helped start to make him realise what a liability Childress was.
