I haven't seen anything like that, but I haven't really been around too much lately.
Week 4:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay?game_id=29249&displayPage=tab_play_by_p lay&season=2007&week=REG4
Week 3:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay?game_id=29230&displayPage=tab_play_by_p lay&season=2007&week=REG3
Week 2:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay?game_id=29220&displayPage=tab_play_by_p lay&season=2007&week=REG2
Week 1:
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/playbyplay?game_id=29201&displayPage=tab_play_by_p lay&season=2007&week=REG1
So Peterson had 6 touches in the second half of the game.
2 carries
1 reception(thrown to twice)
3 returns
Looks to me that no matter how you slice it, we should have put the ball in his hands more in the second half. Especially on the ground where he was averaging 10 yards per carry, even after his 2 carries for 4 yards in the 3rd quarter.
You can analyze it anyway you want, but I think you should put the ball in the hands of the guy who gives you the best chance to win more than 13 times a game[excluding returns(which he should not be doing anyway]
I guess they didn't get the note that they shouldn't take him out of the game.
;D
Comeon Mr. A, he was in on almost half the plays, give or take.
At some point, (I've broke it down 3 or 4 times in other threads), you have to say, a WR is a better option to get me huge yards and I need a back to block for me as well as catch out of the backfield.
Can you imagine what it would be like around here if we lost and he did catch 3 or 4 more balls as dumb offs?
The guys who beeeyatch about short dumpoffs instead of throwing it long would have a justified beeeyatch.

Run when your ahead and you need to eat up the clock, Pass when your behind and you need to score with little time on the clock.
Anyone want to argue with that?

On my video game . . . I can rip off a 70 yard run just as easily as I can a 70 yard pass.
If they are expecting pass . . . you need to run.
If they are expecting run . . . you need to pass. And if they are expecting both . . . just pick up your ball and go the fuck home.
Take that and put it where the sun don't shine!

Contrary to widespread popular belief you can run when you are behind, too.
Not always with "little time on the clock" but that is only about 3 minutes in each half.
We should have given Adrian more carries with the other 27 minutes.
No need to get in panic mode when you are down by a touchdown (or even two) in the 3rd quarter or early 4th quarter
I think the bottom line here, is that the Vikings have no business throwing the ball almost 40 times in a game and running only 21 times (it probably should be the other way around).
We have a good enough defense where we aren't getting blown out so we can run the ball outside of the last 2 or 3 minutes.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!
