Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress will give his team most of their bye week off. Players will report for a strength training session Tuesday, Oct. 10, before being dismissed until Monday, Oct. 16. "I just don't believe with the length of this season that you beat up the players or you beat up the coaches," Childress said. "You need to go for the fresh here over the long haul and they've been at it here for nine, 10 weeks. Physically and mentally it has been grueling and I think the important thing is that they get healthy mentally and they get healthy physically. With that said, there is some responsibility on them in terms of not letting it slip. You don't go sit on the sofa for four or five days."

Just as long as the coaching staff stays put and figures out what in the heck is wrong with the offense!!!

Keep your fingers crossed, and hope the players stay away from boats.

good. they normally practice something like 8 times a week, hitting in all of the drills, before a game, we need a break, our players are beaten up

i dont like it. they should just have less physical practices, but not less practices overall. make it a couple of days going through technique and mental stuff. hopefully our team can recover from their bumps and bruises, which is what the point of them taking 5 days off, and beat those seahawks!!!

Give them all babysitters, and then they can do whatever they want.

Last time a coach gave the Vikes a break during a bye they all were accused of rape and got drunk on a boat...and yet they say Childress is smart??
Last time that happened, we had meat head for a coach, Pep for a quarterback, and Dwight Smith would never have been sat for a minor misconduct (much less probably be a viking). Man, have things changed...
