Military School?
you think thats bad?
Try going to a Catholic School in the 60's.... :
They only had a Catholic elementary school in Hampton, Mn.
So all of their kids came to our school when they got into the 7th grade.
There was a small war every year for the first week of school.
The Protestants vs the Catholics.
After a week or two of getting to know each other we were all friends.
With all of those Hampton Hamster's (as we called them in 7th grade) coming in it increased our class size to an incredible 35 students.
I was happy that I was a Lutheran after hearing all of their stories about how bad the "Nuns" were.
I guess it could have been worse, at least they did not have Father Ben Dover.
Two punishments I grew up hating...
ONE: Ruler across the knuckles
TWO:
For chewing gum,
out comes the black pepper shacker, cover the gum you where caught chewing, re-insurt in mouth, close mouth with tape, sent to stand in corner of room like this, facing the class.....
>
I don't recall the black pepper shaker punishment.
That would have been terrible.
They would go to jail if they did the same thing today.

I have a good friend that went to Catholic grade school in Chicago. He's scared of Nuns now. A couple of years ago on halloween, we were all out at a bar where, unfortunately, there was karaoke. A woman dressed up as a nun got up and started singing "Don't Want No Short Dicked Man". My friend went visibly pale, and he's Irish to begin with. It's hard to get any whiter that white, but he did it."NordicNed" wrote:

Listen to your teachers.
Brad Childress did, and now he's the second-year coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Childress attended Aurora's Marmion Academy where football coach Chuck Dickerson spoke positive, prophetic words over him....
