Re: Childress considering changing the offensive line

I think this is the first for a couple of changes. I see a couple of players getting switched. I can see at change at RG and LT coming soon to. Whittle can play several positions and Herrera must be in the Dog house or something because I was under the impression that he had done an adequate job last year and in the pre-season.

I'm for anything that makes us better.
I can't say I have that many fond memories of Mike "False Start" Rosenthal, though.
And, if we're talking about linemen not playing up to their potential.
Let's talk McKinnie for a second.
The guys a beast and a good run blocker, but his pass blocking has been suspect this year.
It seems like all teams have to do is put a fast DE on his side, and he gets beat most of the game.
Uh oh, I just realized we're playing the Dolphins and Jason Taylor.
May need a FB or TE to help McKinnie out with that one.

    Rosenthal won't solve any problems.
It will just be more penalties and less blocking. I still don't know why he is on our team.

I think Marcus Johnson is a Guard. He can play Tackle pretty decent but not spectacular (at least not yet) and I think his best position right now would be guard.
Problem is that we don't have a tackle and we don't want to confuse the kid by having him switch positions all the time.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

Oh boy! Here we go again! We as fans have been really spoiled when it comes to the line play. Remember the days of Christie, Mcdaniel, and Stuessie?
Mr. False Start is not the answer in my opinion. He has never been as far as I am concerned. I did'nt even like him when he was with the NYG.
Well if he is going to play take him out when the Vikes are in the red zone.

Can you line up with 7 offensive linemen???

    Maybe that would help.

    Then, that's my proposal:

    RTE: M. JOHNSON
    RT: M. ROSENTHAL
    RG: A. HICKS
    C: M. BIRK
    LG: S. HUTCHINSON
    LT: B. MCKINNIE
LTE: A. HERRERA (SUB IN JIMMY K OR WIGGINS FROM TIME TO TIME)
    QB: B. JOHNSON
    RB: C. TAYLOR
    WR: M. ROBINSON
    WR: B. MCMULLEN / T. WILLIAMSON / T. TAYLOR / B. JOHNSON

Re: Childress considering changing the offensive line

I see this as a scapegoat move.

Marcus Johnson is a second year player that has been up and down and that happens with young O-lineman.
But I see Hicks, Birk and McKinney doing nothing that makes them stand out, so why Marcus Johnson?

I would replace Hicks at the end of the season, he would be a good backup but not a starter.

McKinney needs to start earning that new pay raise, or since he got paid is he a slacker now?

Matty B does not look even close to the probowl dominate center we had 3 years ago, and he either needs to step up or step out!

I am more willing to give Marcus Johnson a chance over all 3 of these guys becasue he is only a second year player and these guys are at points in their careers where they should be playing at their best!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.
