Re: CHFF Power Rankings following Week 1

I think the Vikes are rated a bit high given what they have proven so far.
Beating the Pack will make them a top ten team.

What I don't get is how the teams that truly struggled but still squeek out a win could be ranked as high.

Steelers came very close to losing the game, but they still deserve #1?
They looked pretty shaky to me.

Chargers were even worse, barely beating the horrible Raiders.
    But they deserve #6?

Patriots are in there too, they played a pretty lack luster game against an average team.
If NE plays like that against the Jets this week they will surely get their butts kicked.
Which IMO the Pats deserve since they castrated their D.

A win is a win and in this league you take anything you can get.
    Skol Vikings!

I honestly feel sorry for those who are just 'meh' over the win, regardless of the type of competition it was.
Beating the browns certainly doesn't mean we are Super Bowl contenders, but it sure as hell is better than a loss.
And not only did we beat them a bad team, we kicked their brown dimply buttocks.

I think #10 is a fair spot for the Vikings at this point.
A win is a win, and you dang right I was happier than a pig in poo to see it!! Philly, San Diego, and the NY Jets are all overrated. Minnesota still gets no credit!!
Consider these first three games "tune-up" games, and watch the Vikings own a swagger all year from it. This is not the Denny Green/Mike Tice Vikings folks, the team under Childress has never slumped terribly at the end of the season...
    Chilly's first three years:
    6-10
    8-8
    10-6...
Fact: With the addition of Favre and Harvin, you MUST respect our pass game. Moreover, we have a legit deep threat (Berrian) and two nice possession guys (Rice and Shanc). No more eight in the box means AD is not just some day... son-gun is ALLLL DAYYYYYY!!!! Get excited, it's better to be a purple bleeding optimist than a crow eating pessimist!!

    lol...quite possibly.

But you should also be prepared to eat some crow if the trend of +2 wins continues yet another season and we finish 12-4.
If he is as bad of a coach as you think there is no way we'll succeed.

Can you name an NFL coach that you think is worse than Childress?

+1 ... I also think that Mike McCarthy is a terrible coach. Just to add a few more in the mix - Dick Jauron (how does he get to keep his job every year?), Marvin Lewis (maybe somewhere else would work, but Cincy needs to move on) and Sean Payton (this guy simply is terrible, don't know why people like him).
There are also a bunch of younger guys I am not too sure about, but cannot pick on them until they have had their time to shine ... or suck.

#10- perfectly fine by me. I'll gladly slip under the radar all year long if that's the way it shakes out. Power rankings after one game is ridiculous anyway. Also, I don't know how the steelers are at the top when they have absolutely no run game. What math/algorithm are they using. Apparently they don't factor in the K.A.O.
I bet you could use a cool one huh Clark...Now you're talkin Eddie...

No love for the Chilly? So if he wins a super bowl, then what? Is everyone going to talk about how great of a coach he is? Or how great of a team Speilman and the front office put together? Why not just take each game for what they're worth and not rag on a coach who has continuously made the Vikings better.
Does everyone like a draw play when it's 3rd and 10? Well no, but there’s always a reason for the mayhem that the Chilly creates…

Lord knows one thing... he's getting paid the big bucks and has the job/respect for a reason...

Re: CHFF Power Rankings following Week 1

I think the rankings are fair

Although we gave the Browns a short ass field right off that bat

They got a punt return for a TD which won't happen alot (hopefully)

And we gave up a TD in garbage time with a bunch of our back ups in

So I think we easily dominated them and I was thrilled

+1, I think if we win the first 3 games against bad teams that we will be in the top 5 in no time, doesn't mean anything though, except it is an unbiased opinion(no purple shades anyway).
