Given the certainty of getting starter $$$ compared to the odds the Vikes will win the SB next year, if they don't do it this year.Vikings are his best chance to win a Super Bowl. He would be stupid to leave if that is his goal.
I imagine Taylor will be fielding offers as soon as possible, whereas Favre will be sitting on the fence till???
Without Favre the chance of winning the SB goes down considerably.
Thus, if CT is smart he would take the money, just like Birk did, but I think he should look at a better team than the Redskins.
Colts need a run game if Brown doesn't work out, so I would think there would be a good choice plus a chance to win the SB.
CT at best can hope to be the top guy of a committee somewhere (maybe Indy as you stated) ... but he is not going to get a monster contract to be the No. 1 guy anywhere.
Faulk
James
Rhodes
now Addai, people were speculating that Addai would be at half carries by mid season.
I think Browns injury has put a damper on that for now.
Indy has a tradition of drafting their RB's using them up and letting them go.
Except for Faulk which was dumb period.
Addai is coming to the end of his contract and production is off, so they draft Brown.

Okay, it is just speculation.
We should have got something for him if we weren't going to try and resign him.
Should have traded for Betts and a draft pick or something like that before the trade deadline went by.
The best way to get him to stay is to win the Bowl.
If he still feels he needs to make a name for himself, have at it CT, make your name.
Very few players have the luxury to be set to the point that they will opt to stay with a winning team for less money going into thier last contract.
Most are looking for thier last payday to take care of them and thiers.
CT will be doing that. He will go to the team that offers him the most money IMHO.
Nothing more nothing less.
I love CT, but it's business. Besides, CT would like to play more. And he deserves more playing time.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

A big back to go with AD would be a great change of pace.
AD then can let LW do the scut work short yardage, NOT NECESSARILY GOALLINE, so he can keep fresh and break the big ones late in the game.
LW has more carries and a hire avg than CT, but LenDale isn't a receiver.
But I expect AD to become a quality receiver soon.
I would love to see AD and LW in the backfield.
Seriously, teams that have success don't run around signing a bunch of FA's.
They typically draft well, develop thier talent, and if they can't fill a spot that way, then go out and get a FA.
My guess is that this staff will look to resign Chester if they are able, look to thier bench, look to the draft, and if they aren't happy with any of those efforts, sign a mid tier guy.
But if it's a choice to pay CT starter $$$ or get LW, I'm for getting LW.
CT is good but he's not a complement to AD, he's a replacement.
NOTE: I'm assuming that AD's receiving and blocking improve to be a quality 3rd down back.

As for being wise, I'm just another idiot having fun on the net. But thank you anyway.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

Lets not forget, the guy they put in for situations like that is a H-back/TE kindof cat that can catch, run, block etc.
You yourself said LW doesn't fit that bill (can't catch).
Still say that is what they were trying to make Mills into.
To bad he didn't work out. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

That's why I said AD would carry that load for the most part.
LW is a pounder that pushes the pile and punishes the D.
He can come in on any down and have a good chance of getting 4yds.
This year LW has had one TD so far (last year 15), here's the play by play:
1-10-NYJ 14 (11:55) 25-L.White right end to NYJ 10 for 4 yards (57-B.Scott).
2-6-NYJ 10 (11:22) 25-L.White left guard to NYJ 7 for 3 yards (52-D.Harris).
3-3-NYJ 7 (10:45) 25-L.White left tackle to NYJ 3 for 4 yards (57-B.Scott, 21-D.Lowery).
1-3-NYJ 3 (10:08) 25-L.White left tackle to NYJ 5 for -2 yards (36-J.Leonhard).
2-5-NYJ 5 (9:31) 25-L.White left tackle for 5 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
The D knew it was coming and couldn't stop it.
Pounder!
He's averaging 3.5, but his longest is only 11yds.
Doesn't have the 50yds like AD to boost the losses up for his avg.
Not that I'm knocking AD, you need a home run guy, but you need a pounder too.

I kindof lean towards that last.
CT will be looking for one last big contract.
Unfortunately, I believe that contract will be higher than what the Vikes will offer, if they offer anything at all.

If it was close, I would stay.
Even if it wasn't close, I would still weigh all the options.
