Johnson led the Vikes to 7 wins in their last 9-games. He's been a "team guy", never complaining about the fact that he's the lowest paid starting QB in the NFL. Start the season without him and see how far the Vikings go. Johnson signed to back-up Daunte and was elevated to number one. Pay him for that promotion and how he helped bring the team together to save the 2005 season. Just think what '05 would have been like with 7-LOSSES in the last nine games. I'm not his agent but Johnson's the kinda' guy you want kids to respect. He WANTED to come back to Minnesota, rejecting more Seattle money to sign here in '05. He knows this offense and will help the Vikings get the Childress era off to a good start

think we can all agree with that =)

on the other hand:

C.) Other areas of concern:
-Running back

-Linebackers

-A clogged defensive backfield

-Overall "growth" of the Cover-2-defense.

dont see that as a problem, do you?

Ah...the Vikings will be lucky if they go 8-8 this year. Lets not overhype them..

i agree we'll have a slow start due to player/coaching/scheme changse

but seriously, look at that roster, that screams potential for greatness

Lucky to go 8-8? Give me a break.. They went 9-7 with a crappy coach, and no discipline last season.. They will do much better then that this season.. On the other hand, the Cheese will be lucky to hit 3 wins this coming season..

Has anyone else seen the Vikings schedule?

It starts with a loss to the Redskins.

After that, who knows?

We will not be very good this season. We are at best a 11-5 team. But, that will not happen unless we beat some good teams. I hope I am wrong, but looking at other teams, I see better squads and personel, we are at best a wild card playoff team. Untill I see otherwise, what I say is truth.
