    Re: Cedric Griffin Still Confident

I used to love Ced but I can't take it anymore.
What does he do in practice, does he learn from Winfield at all?
Winfield runs through his tackles and is one of the best corners in the league for it.
He breaks up plays left and right.
He goes after it and look at what he has done so far in this Saints game.
Ced on the other hand plays so loose and then once his guy catches it, he stands and waits until his guy makes a move and runs into him giving him the extra 2 yards.
    GO MAKE THE TACKLE!!!
    RUN THROUGH THE GUY!
Meachem caught the ball and if Cedric would have just ran through him he might have broke up the play or at least would have stopped the 1st down.
Quit waiting and make the darn play.

Miller got to see just how confident Griffin is when he got laid out. Winfield still a beast though.

All these people bashing griffin obviously have never studied tape, he actually stepped it up in the 2nd half. Some key hits that kept us in the game, he was killin me on special teams but he finally stepped up and made a play in the 4th. Griffin has alot of talent hes not a veteran i dont know what you expect out of the guy, get pressure on the qb and they will make plays. Massive respect to our LB's they stepped up after that first drive.

    Cedric can't cover.
    Period.
But at least he's getting a lot better at tackling and he had some awesome hits last night.
Between the one on Billy Miller and the kickoff clothesline, I was pretty satisfied with his performance.

I was worried Brees would light Griffin up.
And they might have if the Saints had their first string WR's.

That said Griffin did a good job, made some good hits, forced a fumble, and played a good game against the #1 passing offense.

    Re: Cedric Griffin Still Confident

I had been pretty irked with his play so far this year.
I still feel he plays too far off at times, but I can't say it's not him doing what the coverage he is told to do is dictating.

That being said, I feel like he came in to his own last night in a way.
Obviously they're NOT going to throw to Winfield's side, he's amazing. He is so amazing that whoever is opposite of him is going to look worse since that is where the balls are going.
He may not be great at covering, but he did lay some VERY key hits at key times... he was just a force out there and it was nice to see.

    I have some faith again.

    Trust me, I'm a doctor.
