Re: Cedric Griffin not seeing much difference with game speed

Maybe he isn't being cocky. Maybe he really doesn't see a huge difference yet.

He'll have to learn that NFL players are in the spotlight. Whatever they say to the press could easily be taken out of context and thrown into the national spotlight. The Longhorns have a good ball club, but there is no way that the caliber of play is the same. The NFL has a hodgepodge of the best of the best from the NCAA. He is in for a wakeup call if he truly thinks the speed of the game is the same. I'm sure he'll do fine, just stay away from T-Hoish comments to the press.

I don't see the big deal here. Is every draft pick required to say how much faster the league is? It's just his opinion.

Vikings | Griffin not seeing much difference with game speed

Kare11.com reports Minnesota Vikings CB Cedric Griffin does not see much difference going from a national championship team at Texas to the NFL. Giffin said, "At Texas we played against a whole bunch of elite athletes and in the NFL, all the great athletes come together so right now the game speed is all the same."
Typical T-sip arrogance...he'll learn though. Let's hope that he gets it before our team suffers from his naivete.

He may be right when it comes to physical speed. That really never changes. His ability to keep up with pro's in sprints and dashes may be true.

The problem is the mental speed of the game which will directly effect how fast he can react. The margin alotted for error is less in the NFL.

If he is just talking about his ability to keep up with guys physically he could be correct. Chances are he loses a step during the season when he takes 1 second to make a decision instead of .5 of a second.
