Looks as if his info was good.
Frankly, I'm disappointed he was arrested.
Maybe I'm twisting things a bit, but if the car was stopped at the side of the road, what law did he break?
Is it illegal to sit in a running car while drunk?
I'm by no means in favor of DUI, but to punish someone who realizes their making a mistake and immediately stops an action, I'm not sure that sits well with me.
If you have access to the keys and are drunk in the car you can get a DUI.
I dont know what state you are from and how the law is there but here in Minnesota I highly doubt that is the case.
I am not sure how the law is but I know a fella that will never be allowed to drive a vehicle again because of 7 dui's he has.
But he is allowed to drive a motorized bike as long as the engine is below a certain amount of cc's.
You dont drive a skateboard, you ride it.
You can get DUI on a bike, that I know as a fact.

Re: Cedric Griffin Gets Community Service For DUI
Damn that sucks, I just finished up with some community service and it sucks (picking up trash along the highway). It put a lot of stress on me back too, it was sore for about 4 days afterwards. At least he made a smart decision in pulling over.

Actually, so long as the keys are accessible you're considered in control of the vehicle. They need to be out of sight and arms reach for you to be in the car while intoxicated. From experience, at least by the Laws in NJ...
If you are drunk the only way you can get a DUI is if the keys are in the ignition.
There was one time I came out of a bar way to drunk to drive, I sat in my car while I waited on a ride from someone else to come pick me up and a cop came up to me and asked was I alright.
I said yeah I just had too much to drink.
He said the keys are not in your ignition are they?
I said no, and showed him that they were in my pocket, he left and that was that.
I also had another friend who after going to the casino plenty of night would go in his car and sleep off his drinks for the night.
He did get a dui once when he had his keys in the ignition for the heat in the winter.
He was told he got the dui because the keys were in the ignition.
Since then he no longer puts his keys in the ignition if he had too much to drink.
There is a possibility that my case was different because I was in front of the bar and it was obvious that I did not drive the car to get to my destination drunk.
If Cedric Griffin was on the side of the highway or on the road not near a bar then it's obvious he drove there and then pulled over.
Again the laws in MN and in NJ could be different so who knows.
Edit: In some states. New Jersey isn't one of them. But if you're in the drivers seat you'd be smart to not have your keys accessible.
Sleep in the back seat.

This is true. On a bike you are granted the same rights as drivers on the road and therefore are subject to all duties of drivers on the road, and not being a drunk idiot is one of those duties.

Wow. I didn't even realize he got arrested.Vikings defensive star Cedric Griffin will spend two days doing community service to pay for an August drunken driving arrest...
I hadn't heard of it either...but this shows a bit of good decision-making on his part.
CB Griffin pleads guilty to DWI, gets fine, serviceThe incident occurred when Griffin pulled his car over to the side of Hwy. 5 in Eden Prairie because he didn't feel it was safe for him to continue on the road. Police saw Griffin's car and made the arrest after finding him inside.
