Re: Catching up with Garrett Mills

I agree it was only two catches but there was something about the way he did it. It's not easy to put a finger on why but when he did it wasn't like anything we'd seen from some of our receivers before. It seemed fluid and relaxed, time will tell but I'd like to see more from the guy.

Re: Catching up with Garrett Mills

Anybody who hadn't been pounding his head into DE's, LB'rs and S's all year would look good catching the ball.

Truth be told, Denvers approach to DL/LB (small Faster) allowed for the TE to spring free after chipping/helping the T out.

What happens next year when he isn't getting played because of his size during obvious situations were teams have better/bigger DL's and better blitz packages?

Will we hear the cries of ......."Why isn't the Chiller using Mills right" from the rafters. ;D

Re: Catching up with Garrett Mills

Going into the last game of the year most of us were thinking that our TE's were mediocre at best, at least when it comes to pass catching.
Now, at least, there's a glimmer of hope, and I doubt whether the coaching staff considers it a position of pressing need.
I haven't seen soft hands like that from a Vikings TE since Steve Jordan.
Granted it's too soon to crown him, but you have to admit there is potential.

Well if nothing else it will provide some better competition at TE than we may have expected going into TC

SO no wonder a bit of bickering occured between Belicheck and Childress, This guy is far from polished but he is a diamond in the rough. I would like to see this guy get the ball a bit more next season. Decent hands and good burst. When the ball is in his hands

I can hear the conversation now.

    Belicheck........

Hey Chiller, I see your scouts and Splielmen are snooping about Mills.
Can you tell them to lay off.

    Chiller......

    Are they now.
I thought we were pretty set at TE.
They must see something they like.

    Belicheck.......

If you don't call off the hounds I will steel one of your guys.

    Chiller......

    Go ahead.
Spielman knows what he is doing.

    Belicheck......

I will tape you the next time we play.....

    Chiller......

    Go ahead.
    The league will catch ya.....

I crack myself up sometimes tooo.

The guy makes two very easy catches on sideline routes and suddenly he's the best thing to come to the Vikes. Get real!
    At least he catches them.

I agree with you Cojo to a certain extent

Too early to tell if he will be anything.. But in college he was great..

In the pros so far he's had two balls thrown his way.. And two catches

They were easy, but he looked fluid and catchinig the ball looked easy
So was the catch that Williamson should have made. I agree with snowinapril in was how he did it and how natural he looked.
