If something crazy happens like Geno Smith dropping... I wouldn't rule it out.

Cassel is a good QB. Chiefs never supported him properly. When we had good coaching he was awesome in 2010. I think he could go to a Pro Bowl with Peterson running the ball and your decent stable of WRs.

Very smart guy, can avoid turnovers, can REALLY throw a nice deep ball.

Exactly why Spielman will get him. For Spielman its all about price not productivity. It makes sense now as well, it was said that the Vikings were going to jump on a backup QB right after free agency, so far Spielman has signed 0 players that didn't play for the Vikings last season despite glaring holes. Instead he has traded away or released players. He has my vote for Putz Fuck of the year.

Can't, he already has to draft half a team in the first few rounds.

Cassel I guess wouldn't be a horrible option as the backup. I think with how well he played in NE when Brady went down, then going to KC and getting paid as a franchise QB, that put a lot of added pressure on him to take a struggling franchise up.

I think if he were to relax and not put so much pressure on himself that he could be a very reliable backup, and someone that could move this offense in the event that Ponder gets injured or just completely sucks the place up. All provided that we can some offensive weapons in here. I don't think Manning or Brady could help this offense right now.
