Cassel to the Vikings?
Matt Cassel could end up next Cardinals or Vikings QB

I hope not. Hell I would rather see Brady Quinn in purple before Cassel.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

03-01-2013, 09:13 AM #3I think we'd rather have Thigpen. With 30 turnovers in his last 30 games, it's fair to ask exactly what Cassel would be teaching Ponder.Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Rapoport had absolutely no evidence of a Vikings interest in Cassel beyond,'the Vikings are looking for a veteran QB', and perhaps the assumption of Rick Spielman's penchant for sifting through the dregs of the NFL under achievers to find value, and a rare diamond amongst dust!
Spielman better find someone better than Cassel at backup because it is very likely he will be called upon to play.
Ponder has a tendency to run rather than step up into the pocket and is a higher risk for injury because of it.
The importance of a competent back up QB should be rather obvious after last year.
Just say no to Cassel.

I'm not sure that I wouldn't actually rather see a rookie draft pick... But, he's got to be an upgrade over what we currently have for backups. I would think he would rather go to Arizona...but, their OL is among the worse in the League.
I guess, if he's willing to come here to compete for 2nd string QB, that's ok by me.Last edited by MaxVike; 03-01-2013 at 06:44 PM.

As a matter of fact, I do know

03-02-2013, 06:50 AM #7Given Ponder has more turnovers than that in his 26 starts, I guess Cassel could teach him how to not turn the ball over too much. With 30 turnovers in his last 30 games, it's fair to ask exactly what Cassel would be teaching Ponder.
