Re: Cassel or Quinn could be Vikings' next QB

i live in miami and i saw cassell play the dolphins and honestly the guy does not look good. he is a decent backup to have at most. most of his throws were behind receivers. his receivers (welker, moss) make him look decent at best.

i dont see them going after warner to win now. this maybe out of topic but it does have something to do with who the vikings qb will be and that is if the vikes dont make the playoffs this year, chilly himself knows hes gonna be gone. if chilly is gone the next coach that comes in is gonna find a qb that is gonna fit his system.

I don't think either of them will be QB's in Minny. Who knows how this season will unfold but I do believe Frerotte is under contract along with Jackson and Booty. Booty is a guy who was a winner at USC and I think he can be a winner in Minnesota. Next years QB competition should be a good and I think it's just to early to hit the panic button at the QB position.

Hey, Brady lost to the Dolphins too (link.
That was actually the Patriots last regular season loss.
Thought it was interesting that a pretty bad Dolphins team was on both ends of that streak, with dominating performances in both.

In any event, I don't think anybody wants Cassel.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Way to go twisting the title of the article you linked:

Could Matt Cassel be the next Minnesota Vikings quarterback?

It's a question, you made a statement that is very misleading.
I just used the title used in FanNation's Truth & Rumors

    Here is the link: http://fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/

I figured it would be fine to use either one.

Cassel? We just as well go after Bollinger.
    No thank you.

A bit soon to be speculating on a topic such as this isn't it?

    :

My guess is that they will be interested in someone none of us are even considering.
Sage would be the number one guy I would think they might pursue again, or, just maybe..........

They just might look at one of thier young QB's they have been developing.

    ;D
Bah, all QBs in this league suck toad except for one or two.

Whatever happened to the days of QB dominance in the league.

    *sigh*

Or is that just a jaded memory?
LOL, You are wise beyond your vested years my friend.

    ;D

    I agree.
The state of QB'in in the NFL is a sham.
Case in point, the Titans won tonight based on the crappy play of the opposing teams QB.
Romo is slinging it to almost anybody that wants to catch it etc etc etc.

Game managers seem to be the guy teams are looking for.
    I don't know if I would say "a sham".
There are plenty of good QBs out there, you just need to find the right one to fit the right system.
People just see the freaks of natures like Brady and Manning and think that to be a good QB you need to be putting up 4 TDs a game and passing for 3 or 400 yards.
There are plenty of lunch box type QBs who get the job done.
I mean just look at a guy like Trent Edwards, plenty of QBs out there that just need a chance.
One guy who's finally emerging but didn't get a lot of fan fare is Jay Cutler.
He's gearing up to be a big time QB for years and years to come.
Yeah I agree with you there ... I mean right off the top of my head I think it is fair to say that Eli, McNabb, Romo, Hasslebeck, Warner, Delhomme, Brees, Brady, Favre, Cutler, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Palmer and Manning would all HAVE to be considered very solid QBs.
I mean what dominance are you looking for from the past? Certainly you were not looking for QBs who threw for 49 or 50 TDs ... they are only around today ... certainly you are not looking for three-time MVPs ... they are only around today.
The quarterback position is just as dominant and just as important today as it ever was. Commentators are not going overboard when they say it. It is THE MOST important position in sports. And it remains so today.

You're right, he failed to play all 11 defensive positions. It's definitely his fault they gave up 38 points.
