Re: Can We Beat the Cards?

    Not confused, demoralized, divided?

    Well, we shall see.

As for being any good.....is this not the same team that played the last quarter against the Patriots?

Oh, I know.....some impostors sneaked in!!!

    The real Vikings were kidnapped.

Oh......and Mardro.....you call Peterson the greatest running back to play the game?

Have you now gone beyond inane and did not stop but proceeded directly to absolutely insane?

Come on.....you deserve to hang onto the little credibility you've got around here......don't throw it away by making an absurd statement like that.

At least the rest of your post was only slightly inaccurate.

I think it depends on how Percy can move around and if the defense shows up. Can Berrian, Lewis & Cam get open for Favre? Looking at the last 7 games, you'd have to assume the answer is "no". I think the Cards will load up the middle and focus on AD cause they know our wr's suck bag and can't get open.

When his career is done, you will agree with me.

Looking at the state of this team right now, I would say no.
What exactly is the 'state of the team'?

not one player has come out and said they are boycotting the season, and playing for next year.

This site most days is overwhelmed with negativity, but this week seems to be particularly bad.. As in game day in 'live chat' bad.
    The state of this team in my opinion;

    1. An aged, immobile quarterback who will continue to take big shots as he as stands in the pocket like a statue.

    2. A (once again) underwelming WR corp. Harvin was just starting to find open spots with a legitimate deep threat lining up on the other side of the field from him. Even though Rice is off the PUP list does not mean he will be ready right away. They have to take him off or else put him on IR. He could be weeks away, if not longer.

    3. A defensive line that is starting to look it's age, and an extremely lackluster performance so far by their "star" player Jared Allen.

    4. A head coach that has lost control of his team, including his QB that barely acknowledges him at all.

    5. An owner that is losing patience, and is probably going to be spending the off-season looking for houses for sale in L.A. for when he moves this team out there.

So, yea I think the state of this team is in pretty rough shape.

    Rough shape.....yes.

And they showed it in spades in the fourth quarter against the Pats.....well, all except the QB.

He was knocked out because our pass protection consists of turnstiles who spin to facilitate the passage of the pass rush.

    All in all.....a dismal situation.

Re: Can We Beat the Cards?

Can we? Of course. Will we? That's the proper question.

IMO, one of two things happens here. Either the disease progresses into terminal phase and we not only lose but look horrible in doing so, or the players take a long hard look at themselves and decide that it's now or never. If they can motivate themselves now, when it is needed the most, then maybe, just maybe, we still have a chance to save this season.

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to realize just how bad things are. The kick in the teeth that we just got might end up doing some good, if our guys can look at it the right way.

I will hope that this is what happens, but I am not counting on it.

An ugly, sloppy win does nothing for us. We need a statement, and we need it now.

Re: Can We Beat the Cards?

This is the dumbest question ever asked on here

Of course we can.. And will we? Probably

Are the Cards a powerhouse? NO

Are the Cards in as rough shape as we are? Yes

Are the Cards at home with a home field advantage? NO

We have been a call away or a bounce or 2 away from a few more victories.. People act like we are horrible because of our record.. When in reality.. We've been in every game

Lost on the road to Pack who are a good team.. Miami at home and are a real up and comer.. Road to New England and New York who are powerhouses and don't lose at home.. And N.O superbowl champs

All have been pretty damn close games.. Cards aren't on any of their levels..

Re: Can We Beat the Cards?

I feel pretty good about our chances with this game ... and for the rest of the season BASED ON THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

I think that IF we beat the Cardinals and Bears (which I think we will, but of course, we could easily lose both) that we will be past all the Favre, Moss, Chilly drama and licking our chops for the Packers rematch. That is simply what a winning streak does in the NFL.

But IF we lose this weekend to the Cardinals, especially in ugly fashion, then Childress can start getting his resume ready because the team is officially in the tank and not going to finish with anymore than 6-7 wins more than likely.

In my prediction for this season I said we'd go 7-9 this year and the seven wins included victories in our next two games against the Cards and the Bears.

THEN.....when Moss suddenly appeared....I got insanely optimistic and said that after beating the Cards/Bears--we'd also win our next game against the Packers.

NOW.....I see Moss vanish in an instant and I see an injured, confused, demoralized and divided team dealing with the shock of that sudden firing of a talented (and needed) player.

So I wonder if we can beat the Cards?

And if we can't beat the Cards......can we win any games for the rest of the year?
BTW: not one player has said they are confused, demoralized or that the team is divided.
WHAT?! Many players have said they were stunned by the decision to drop Moss. You don't think that causes confusion? wow
