    Ditto.
    Vike Tastic Four.

Re: Can Vikings "D" rank in top 10?

It will be real refreshing to see pressure from the front 4.
Opposing QB's have had it way too easy against the Vikes in the past few years.

Top 10 would be huge, if they can get help from the offense eating up the clock, then maybe...

Re: Can Vikings "D" rank in top 10?

I think it's possible, but as stated earlier in this thread.
It's quite a jump to go from 28th ranked defense to top 10...
Especially with an entirely new defensive system in place.
It might take a season to get this cover 2 system down.
They have done pretty well in pre-season, but that's against vanilla offense.
I think a good test will be against Carolina.
If we can keep their offense to under 17 points, I'll be thrilled.

Heck with looking ahead to a test at Carolina.
    Lets get past the Redskins.
I know we are gonna catch them at a low point (I hope) and should win but never look ahead.

Re: Can Vikings "D" rank in top 10?

All they really have to do is stay healthy and the odds are pretty good.
Considering they have 6 games against the three offenses in our division, that were not very good this year, and don't have very high expectations this year.
Couple that with the fact that we also play the NFC West (which includes the Rams and 49ers), and the NFC East (Jets, Bills, etc.).
We could actually be a top 10 D without making the playoffs.

The Redsticks game will be the first test.
First home game of the season for them and they're out to prove something just like everyone else.

Can they be a top 10 defenese?
    Hell yes.
The first game of the season hasn't even been played yet and the offseason moves in addition to picking up Tomlin makes it possible, improbable this year, but possible.

Re: Can Vikings "D" rank in top 10?

I think this D can be in the top ten.
However, I am still concerned about Napo.
EJ has looked good and Leber has looked solid.
Harris, let me just say I'm still not too impressed.
I know he has the potential but I just want him to prove something other than training camp.
    I hope he can.
Hopefully with the aggressive front line and ball-hawking backs, QBs will be pressured enough.
It does make a big difference.
What I can't wait to see (I will be at the game) is Culpepper trying to run away from the front line.
I hope we have a 9 sack game that day.
